    I hate recruiting this year

First of all thank you EA for making me as Nebraska have to resort to a walk-on kicker after losing Alex Henery and offering every damn kicker out there. Thanks again for having that walk-on kicker (which by the way Henery was and is one of the best kickers in the nation) turn out to be a 45 overall idiot who has 45 kick power and accuracy and cant walk and chew gum at the same time let alone kick anything longer than a 20 yard field goal.

Thanks again for me having to promise a punter solid playing time to get his commit that year. Having said punter be by far better than ****ty walk-on kicker, then having Punter start as my kick-off man, field goal kicker, and PUNTER. Then thank you for having my promise broken just now at the end of the year for solid playing time.

Lastly I am convinced that there are teams programmed in to be near locks for top 4 and 5 star guys to be interested in/commit to even when 2 other 4 or 5 star guys did. And Nebraska is not one of them. After 2 undefeated seasons (and screwed out of chance to even play for MNC both years, but thats another story) I am up to a 6 star school with A+ in plenty of biggies. I go after them with max hour every week, and promise them ****. Do they still go to the loaded depth chart school of Bama, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, or Florida? Yes. Its not me going after fish that are too big for me or anything like that. Im not even going for ridiculous stacked depth charts. Its stupid hard to get a 4 star MLB to commit when all I have left is one guy I had to convince to stay.

I just dont get it. I dont want the old recruiting, but this is just plain dumb.

End of rant. I think I feel a little better.

Re: I hate recruiting this year

I'm of the belief that there shouldn't even be any low rated kicker prospects in the game. I can't tell you how many games I've won because the CPU team had a kicker who missed countless extra points or field goals from a respectable range. Sometimes I'm even tempted to jump offsides so they don't have to attempt a field goal I know they have no chance of making (and that's so unfortunate).

Sidebar: What difficulty are you recruiting on?

Sea of red, you can knock the recruiting difficulty down a notch. What recruiting diff are you using?

Plus I'm sure IRL Michigan would love a 45-rated kicker right about now!

It is pretty stupid though to see a 5-6 star program struggle to get ANYONE interested in a scholarship offer. As Florida I have had to take walk on TE's and FB's because none were interested. That's just ridiculous. Show me any top 10 team that has gone 4 straight years without a scholarship player at TE that uses one in their offense.

Uh...you know you don't need someone to be initially interested (green) in your program for you to successfully recruit them right?

The week *** kickers is why I sadly simulate anything involving kicking. Get the random miss, fumble, return TD and stuff like that.

                1# Punter comes in at 2* 62 Ovr 72 Power 63 ACC ... with a throwing arm.

The best K'ers and P'ers in the game are usually at other positions on the recruiting board... so if you have bad luck and get a crappy one or none at all, make sure to check other players on the team for their KPW and KAC... ya might already have one or recruited one and not know it.

Uh...yeah. I loaded up 12 TE's on the year my last two were graduating (6 in green, 6 in non green but in pipeline states) and didn't get a single one. I went into the off season and had to take a walk on TE who ended up being a 42 OVR with 64 SPD. I had offensive lineman that were faster than him.

I know I can. I will if I dont get a haul this year. I need a FULL 25 player class or I am ****ed.

I dont want last/previous years recruiting. But typical EA, they cant get a good balance.

I think it might be that balance for teams with absurd levels of talent in their state. TX, CA, and FL rightfully have a lot, but I think others are boosted way too much such as Mich and Ohio. Good talent states but not to the crazy level EA does. Also this is the first year I even have 1 lone 4 star in NE.

I just want balance. Like Fury said, its rediculous for a 5 to 6 star program to struggle to get ANYONE, im talking any damn 3 star, to commit when you have jack **** coming back at that position. I dont want recruiting to where Im putting together teams that make 95 NE, 01 Mia, or 04 or so USC look bad. But come on EA, one damn 3 star at a near empty position?

Last year I had guys soft committed to troy and KU for WEEKS, with no offer from them, while I pounded them with minutes and promises. Nope didnt get those 3 stars. Sat at -1 in points to the other schools the whole time.

Just started a new season and have green interested prospects ALL OVER the top 150. So I will see if I can snag some needed talent or if I need to lower the recruiting diff down from AA.

I LOVE this years recruiting. For once it takes a challenge to raise a 1* program into a legit 6* program.

If you are chasing 12 TE in one recruiting season then it's not te games recruiting it's your recruiting strategy that is not working. You should have no more than 12 unsigned players on your board at any one time. Putting 12 TE on your board tells me your spreading your minutes too thin since I'm assuming you're also trying to fill other positions. Check out the recruiting thread on here for more tips.

                            This.

Going after 12 TE's (especially 6 that aren't even interested) is a big time no-no.
