Is there a way to reduce fumbles in the game?

I'm getting an inordinate amount of fumbles, many returned for touchdowns. Is there a way to reduce that globally?

You can hold RB on 360 or R1 on PS3 prior to being hit to cover the ball and reduce the chance of a fumble, and you can also set the appropriate Gameplan setting to conservative at the expense of less broken tackles. Sometimes though it seems to me that the CPU decides you're going to have a bad, fumble and penalty happy game no matter what you do, especially on the road.

if your an offline player and want to lower CPU fumbles, either move CPU RB ability up, or lower Human tackling.

if you want to lower your fumbles, use the protect ball button(RB on 360) or lean away from the defender(using the right thumb-stick)

If your having the fumblitis issue work on pressing the RB button before tackles and don't attempt to juke or spin in tight spots often.
