Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available For PS3, Later Today For 360, Post Impressions Here
I'm trying to be open minded but wow.
Jumped up to BROADCAST VIEW AND ALL STAR RIGHT AWAY.
Player models almost look a bit like ps2 graphics
Tons of frames dropping and slowdown on rebounds.
Im left in utter shock to be honestComment

The old control scheme wouldn't allow for either, and the new one does.Comment

Positives
You can use the Celtics in the demo.
The shot skill stick is a nice innovation.
The crowd sounds good.
Negatives
The animations are a huge step back from Live 10. It looks like Live 07, with the "popcorn jumping."
Graphically it looks like Sony's NBA 08.
The announcing is horrid. So forced and cheesy, JVG doesn't even sound like himself.
Verdict
I am really surprised at how bad this is. I went ahead and gave it a try, hoping that it would be somewhat like the NHL Franchise. This is a travesty to NBA fans. I will only be getting one NBA game this year.Comment

I felt that both the shooting and dribbling controls were nice yet layups were a bit awkward. It seemed like it was pretty easy to get a steal if you abused it enough and for whatever reason, Kobe kept on blocking Ray Allen every single time he took a shot..which is weird because Kobe's not a shot blocker.
Some of the combinations you had to use in order to achieve something like the eurostep were awkward as well but with some practice, it can become second nature.
I don't want to take anything away from this game but it's hard not to compare this game to its competition when the competition seems to play more authentically which is what I'm looking for in a basketball game.
Other than that, it's quite an interesting game to play and I look forward to its development in future installments.Comment

Real talk, and this is not to be on some silly console war - I say scrap the 360 version for next year and dev only for the PS3 and utilize the Blu-ray disc space to help stretch the engine. At this point, EA is truly losing out this time around although I find some redeeming qualities about the game. If it shows that they actually went in the wrong direction when the sales figures first hit, go hard on the PS3. At that point it would be a what have they got to lose scenario.
To me, it looks like they've really tapped out the engine's resources without the extra disc space. Not to mention they could REALLY go hard like how the guys who dev The Show do. The PS3 has some real nice tricks up it's sleeve, as well. EA could make up lost dollars with even greater sales that way when word of mouth of how great a game they put together on the 3....but then again, they'd need a couple years of dev time to go hard on an Elite 13...maybe.
Just a thought but I know how many of you will take that the wrong way...Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available For PS3, Later Today For 360, Post Impressions Here
Presentation is on point, crowd atmosphere is stellar much like last year, the control scheme I dunno about that wasn't feeling that at all. Seems a bit weird to play without a sprint button, movements of players not feeling it at all has a very sluggish feel, I know it probably has something to do with trying to make players feel like they have weight to them but I think it's a bit too sluggish. Shooting is way too easy, but that has already been stated that it's being tuned. The Become legendary mode seems really fun I'll give the guys at EA a thumbs up on that I like how they analyze your game as you go play through the quarters, I ended up being project 10 overall pick to the Pacers. Overall, I just wasn't really into this title, it has a learning curve to it which is a plus but as far as gameplay goes it's just not my cup of tea. Elite just doesn't strike me as a game you will put hours of playtime in, it seems more like a pick up and play a couple quick games with friends at a party or get together just for fun but nothing major. Just my opinion, I will play some more tomorrow when I have more time and give a better critique on the game but for now I'm not into itComment

I have to be honest here, why are you answering these type questions when the product that you worked on for months is getting absolutely hammered? Can you please respond to some review comments?Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available For PS3, Later Today For 360, Post Impressions Here
Pressed R2 at halfcourt and my player shot up a halfcourt shot. I wanted to win the game. Im not sure why there is hesitation in my button presses.
Noticed some major clipping all around.
It's still NBA basketball so Ill stick it out the next few days and seeComment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available For PS3, Later Today For 360, Post Impressions Here
I've played a few games and the following are my impressions..
Graphics
Everything looks solid and theres little noticable alaising, but at the same time, there's nothing amazing about the graphics. Players and uniforms represent their real life counterparts well. I like the crowd also.
Sound
Crowd reacts well and chants appropriately. Overall, the sound seemed to pull me into the action.
Animation
While it isn't horribe, it isn't great either. Also, sometimes players seem to need a transition animation because they stop flow abrubtly.
Gameplay
I like it so far. I feel like I have a lot to do with the success of a shot. I also find it's a challenge to get deep in the paint.
These are my impressions. Your impressions will vary.Comment
