Well... I'm not really sure what to say honestly that hasn't already been, but it's still hard to grasp a series, five or so years into its life, taking major steps backwards to start ANOTHER 3-year plan.

I realize the dev team worked hard on this title, obviously they did, and I know they take pride in their work, but this game is just... disappointing. Graphically, fundamentally, everything, it's just not up to snuff. ESPECIALLY when considering how good last year's game played and looked. It was heading in a VERY good direction, then BAM, all that work is gone and we start over.

I GET the philosophy, I really do, but it is too late into this generation to be trying something like this. And if you ARE going to start over, you need to take a year off so that your "first" product releases in much better shape than what we have with Elite.

Again, just very, very disappointing.

OK. been banging my head with this demo for a few hours and I just want everyone to know that this is not NBA Live.

the gather/euro step button is very key in driving to the basket/low post, I think I'm finally getting the hang of it, once I forget those Live moves I'll be good..

the Devs weren't lying you have to "feel" the controls, it's nothing like any other basketball game.

I think it will take Veteran Live players atleat a couple of weeks to get used to this game, it was frustrating at first cause the controls are VERY different from what we are used to...

I'm still copping day one, hopefully by the time the game drops, I'll be used to the controls.

LB alone is BACKDOWN. LB+ face button gives you nothing.

The control settings has DIRECT "icon" PASSING as LB+RB +Face Buttons.

Try it for yourself. I wouldn't be causing a uproar for no reason. DIRECT passing is legitimately broken.

I have this problem too when i try to icon pass to a specific player with RB + LB. The delay is annoying.

On some possessions the AI seems to go brain dead. Ron Artest posted me up and just dribbled in the same spot for the whole possesion.

EDIT: OK I must be on the penalty kill because its 4 on 5 basketball advantage Lakers. Pierce is Jesus in the middle of the floor.

I get it EA.........I like the new direction. I have enjoyed this demo 10X more than the 2K demo!!!

Sorry but i really wanted to give it a chance,but this game is a piece of crap, the graphics are horrible..........this doesn´t look like HD at all,they definetely need to step up a notch , but this year they don´t have a chance against 2k,2k all the way....................................

I just don't understand the direction here, because whatever direction this game is moving in is away from NBA basketball. Live 10 was on track...what happened?!

This control scheme was a huge mistake. I know I'm not completely adjusted to it, but I doubt I ever will be anyways. It's just not the right scheme for a basketball game, I don't give a **** if it worked for hockey.

Live 10 had the best perimeter ball movement in any basketball game at the time of it's release, that's gone.

Live 10 had the best player movement and dribbling at the time of it's release, that's been revamped for the worse.

Live 10 had awesome responsive jump shooting with momentum that made sense and great looking sig forms, the shot "skill stick" is a joke (sorry I shouldn't be able to hit 10 straight contested 3's with Kobe, which I did, it just shouldn't happen).

Live 10 had vibrant, eye catching graphics that easily impressed anyone in the room, this looks like Sony's NBA 08...right down to the animations.

Live 10 was basketball, this is not basketball.

Ignore the guy that's playing he clearly doesn't know how to play. Just watch the CPU play this authentic basketball and the nice shot selections that they take. Look at how smooth those shots are

I have this problem too when i try to icon pass to a specific player with RB + LB. The delay is annoying.

It is not RB + LB, its RB + LB/X/etc, with LB being the icon for the Center, X the small forward and so on. The icons are slow to show up, but like Pared pointed out, if you just hold RB and tap the button, it will make the pass even though the icons didn't show up yet. The control is responsive, the icon appearance is sluggish.

The game looks much better when you zoom in Broadcast camera a couple clicks. I liked the look and I like it more now.

I thought the RS was your hands on Defense, yet the mapping is permanently Left on the RS is your right arm and Right on the RS is your left arm. This looks "right" on baseline cam, but on Broadcast, there is no intuitive logic for RS defense because Left is right and right is left.

I mean come on man Bynum running PG.......

and then at 2:45 mark JO shoots some awful goofy crap with his back to the basket as if shooting backwards in mid air then gets his own rebound and throws up another goofy looking shot.

those are the things that have been in Live since coming to next gen....they are the silly animations that have killed this series year after year. Why is that stuff still in the game 5 years later

tha kid, RB+ A quick tap of a button does not make it any faster. Yes... I'll eventually get a pass off. but the quick passes are impossible. RB+ LB, RB+X, RB+A, RB+Y. none of them initiate a quick response pass

This is the only thing holding me back on a controls POV. Do i need to record a video of me playing and trying to icon pass?

Pros

What I liked was the authetic crowd noise, very hyped like the nba finals.

I liked the jersey movement real nice though it didn't look like the material that nba jerseys are made of it looked sort of shiny like which is weird.

I like the tenacious defense at times very hard to get to the paint.







Cons

That new revolution control stuff is broken to much relies on the right stick being precise. Ever heared the saying "No one Stick should have all that power" In my game i constantly had trouble passing with it and shooting getting them confused.

Wheres the turbo button in Madden 11 it was okay having no turbo in this game. There needs to be a turbo button

To many steals i was getting the ball picked from me by derek fisher way to many times like just coming up the court he'd pick the ball like he was number 1 in the league from Rondo i'm like WTF vice versa for derek fisher.

Defense is to difficult to play with a defensive stance button the ai drove by me many times because i couldn't slide fast enough to stop them. I think this also should teach EA to implement some sort of spacing between the offensive player and defensive player like 2k11 there simply to close together which causes the high steals and to easy for the offense to get by.

Like everyone else i had an akward moment where kg sat there with the ball everyone looking at him and then just shot it up.

MOst passes in the game got to there player the defense looks like its in progress of becoming better.

The announcers talk good but they aren't aware of eachother. ALl players have the same dribble package it seems just the difficulty of moves varies.

I didn't feel a real defense between big men and pg like rondo i could move around the top fast with him or get by Derek fisher who should have a hard time with me. Playersl ike kobe felt like generic players on the court like everyone else. NOt that he shuold be like he was in the 2k11 demo but when i use him i should feel like i'm using the greatest player in the nba at the moment.

Thats about it..oh and mad nice intro boys i like the durant thing
