I'm noticing that the bigs skying for rebounds only happen when in traffic, which is rather odd. You would think it would be much more difficult to jump high and to land when people are around you.

Its a legit gripe, just because it doesn't matter to you doesn't mean everyone falls inline."I'm so far ahead of my time, I'm bout to start another life
Look behind you, I'm bout to pass you twice
Back to the future and gotta slow up for the present
I'm fast, dudes can't get past my past
How they supposed to deal with my perfect present?"Comment

even if the side was hit, when's the last time you saw the floating ball and that angle? it almost defies physics. plus think to last year's game, it happened all the time. i can find countless examples of this in all of the videos out too. it's not game breaking but it's just been a nagging annoyance for years.
clearly they matter to someone and they are obviously thinking about them. everything is not PERFECT. i don't think any game is absolutely perfect.Comment

The "floating" I'm not seeing too much of, but I won't contest that one with you. As far as the ball moving to that spot: Thabeet could have hit Aldridge's arm to make the ball come loose like that. Like I said, I didn't see much there to have a gripe with.even if the side was hit, when's the last time you saw the floating ball and that angle? it almost defies physics. plus think to last year's game, it happened all the time. i can find countless examples of this in all of the videos out too. it's not game breaking but it's just been a nagging annoyance for years.Comment

Actually, a poster in the "Little Things" thread mentioned an up and under shot being blocked from the weakside. But yeah, hopefully it's effectiveness should be reduced for one-on-one situations.Follow me on Twitter: @domidomdomz

If that was my post; I was referring to the reverse layup, not the post move, unfortunately.
It definitely seems too effective at this point, but I'm hoping this is on a lower difficulty. Randolph will likely be top 3 in the game in terms of close rating + offensive post as well, so let's hope that's the case here.Comment

Lovin' the vid - it's a breath-of-fresh-air to actually see a couple gameplay vids of mediocre teams. (not the Heat, Celtics, Lakers, etc.)
My only gripe with the series so far is the darn SOUND of when the ball hits the rim on a miss...UGH!
It just sounds horrible...the echo is bad, and the ball does NOT sound like that during a t.v. broadcast - it looks like I'll have to turn the in-game sound effects off....too bad.

yeah man of course, have you watched any of DaCzar videos, he explains this in everyone, teams will play like they play in real life,I really don't like how Mike Conley has to initiate every play. Can you initiate plays with guys other than your PG? You could do that in Live 10 and it made playcalling feel so fluid. The Grizz don't initiate their offense with Mike Conley.
Based on the vids I'm not feeling the playcalling at all right now.

and the blazers should have white shoes and socks at home, not black, they wear black in the playoffs. 2k did this last year also and the only way to get white socks was to download one of their jokes of a roster update.Comment

Won't that be kinda bland ?My only gripe with the series so far is the darn SOUND of when the ball hits the rim on a miss...UGH!

It seems like an extreme thing to do cause of one sound effect, but I guess it annoys you a lot.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Gameplay Video: Memphis Grizzlies vs. Portland Trail Blazers
Z Bo's first up and under wasn't canned. That was a step through followed by a flick flick. Looks like you can basically up and under with anyone, anywhere now. Doesn't matter...all post moves were high powered since people complained about missed layups two years ago. Up and under is the simplest, but everyones pet post move was high powered. The baseline spin/reverse layup was gravy, the faceup/hopstep was money, and everyone had a turnaround like Sheed...only the hooks out of the stepthrough/dropstep could be contested consistently since the animation called for the defender to stay attached. Looks like the new up and unders are supposed to counter the amped up blocking.
Also, in 2K10 once the play was triggered, you didn't have to stay in the circle...you could dribble around and sizeup as the play developed. Should be the same, hopefully.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: NBA 2K11 Gameplay Video: Memphis Grizzlies vs. Portland Trail Blazers
You're trying to get too technical. It's all relative. All you need to do is look how high he is compared to the other players. It's obvious something isn't right. Greg Oden is 7'0" tall and it looks like his head is around the level of Gasol's mid section.Okay look here, this is a bad example. First the basket is closer to us than Gasol. In that same picutre if someone took a three from the corner I'm pretty sure at the top of his vertical his head would be above the the small box over the rim. I guess he would have crazy vertical too right? Look until you can show a pic of these crazy vertical in relation to the rim using the 2K cam. I'm going to say you are wrong. I'm not debating the animation, it did look weird.Last edited by oOausarOo; 09-22-2010, 08:48 AM.Comment

Nah, it looks alright to me. Gasol looks just slightly taller than Oden in this video and he is 7'1" in real
life so it's o.k.
One thing I noticed though is that Aldridge and Batum - in the short moments where the camera zooms in on one of them - look actually 2 years younger instead of older compared to 2k9.

Re: NBA 2K11 Gameplay Video: Memphis Grizzlies vs. Portland Trail Blazers
Just wanted to comment on the statement made earlier about how annoying it is that conley has to initiate every play, I say the SAME thing everytime I watch them play in real life.
No easy baskets come out of our play design, which is why we are always at the bottom of the league in assists.
Sad, but the playcallin is pretty accurateEricmaynor3.com
