If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -
Re: NBA 2K11 Developer Insights: Association
I'm not complaining about anything as I don't have a game to complain about. Right now 2k11 is an idea to all of us, not a game. I'm voicing my concerns that we don't have a repeat of the last two years. With the demo on pro and not even being close to the final build there is no assurance that it is a true indicator of how the game will play when it's fully featured and on the appropriate difficulty.Comment

yes, I've read all of the insights and played the demo. Never in any of my years playing 2k has the lead up hype indicated the problems that would be in the final game.
we'll know what they've addressed when the game releases and not before. I bring these things up only because I hope their priorities are in order regarding those issues because there is a prevailing thought that the arcade tendencies and percentages were not an accident but rather a decision designed to please the casual audience.

Re: NBA 2K11 Developer Insights: Association
no mention of the team owners personalities. it would be nice to be able to choose what was important to your owner prior to starting association mode or at least if they updated them. example: for the last few years the blazers owner in the game was most concerned with making money, irl the blazers owner paul allen is the richest owner in pro sports and money is never an issue, winning is the only objective.
small gripe i guess with all the improvements. i dont usually get into association mode that much but i dont know how i can stay away this year, i will have to at least play a season or two just to see all these improvements for myself.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Developer Insights: Association
Over the course of developing 2K11’s The Association, these two features very quickly became my two best friends. Let’s start off with the Player Finder. With this feature, users can find players in the league that meet any search criteria you want. An example of this in use is as follows. I’ve started a new Association with the 76ers, but I’d like to find a new PG to run the team as I don’t see Louis Williams or Jrue Holiday in my future plans. Here is what I need: A PG that is under 28 years old, that makes less than 10M per year, that has a B+ or Better Outside Shot, and that has a B+ or Better Perimeter Defense rating. Just like that, I have a list of every player in the league that fits my criteria. When used properly, Player Finder is a very valuable took for team building and filling out your roster. Finding specialists has never been easier.
Now I just hope my centers aren't attempting 200 to 300 3's a season.
My hype just went way up for this game.....Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Developer Insights: Association
Bit of a weird question.. but.. when you bring the classic teams into Association - how old would the players be?
For example if you use the 1998 Bulls team in a 2011 season will they all retire after 1 season as their ages would be 40+

Re: NBA 2K11 Developer Insights: Association
Yeah about the lockout/2k12 talk. The NFL is facing a lockout after this season and if it happens you had better believe there will still be a Madden 12 with or without a football season.
The same applies with 2k basketball. These games are very real money makers for the publishers.Favorite Sports Teams
NFL - Carolina Panthers
NBA - Charlotte Hornets
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
College Basketball - Wake Forest
NCAA Football - Appalachian StateComment

Game_of_the_Year
Forget Sports Game of the Year at this point. 2K Sports has seriously just made a bonafide contender for GOTY. This is absolutely incredible what they've done to this game this year.
This is going to be a masterpiece.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Developer Insights: Association
Awesome, just awesome! I'm loving the added metric stats, especially Usage Rate. I cannot believe PER, and EFF and those other advanced stats were in 2K10 all this time. I haven't played Association mode since 2K8. I will definitely jump back to Association this time around. Great job, 2K Team!Comment
