no i havent ive actually played the 2k series, both football and basketball since its inception on Sega. Last year i was extremely dissapointed with the game in general especially after stupidly buying it for both consoles on the release date because i was so sure i would enjoy it, and couldnt even play a game online. It was the first year that i gave madden a try because they gameplay seemed to be getting similar to NFL2k5s...

Trying Madden's online gameplay and online franchise mode after dealing with 2k's debacle was a revelation and Live, though improved, was definitely no 2K. And now after trying NCAA 11's Online Dynasty, im sorry to be harsh but realistically speaking its just pathetic to go back to one and done seasons with no substance.

i realize no other basketball game has done it, but i just think its a feature that should be in every single sports game its just an absolute must have for me at this point.

once again not trying to bash the game, if anything the reason why im so disapointed is because the game seems so awesome this year and it would be perfect to have that kind of gameplay with this mode. Last year they said that online Franchise is something they would look to implement in 2k11 so they must be well aware of its importance.

The great thing with the NBA 2K series is that they have the core game down so well they can now afford to spend development time on loads of little details. For me it's this attention to detail that makes 2K's NBA series stand out, not only in terms of basketball games, but sport games in general.

I got a question about the team personalities. If you are a few years into your association, will other teams change their personalities? i.e if sacramento start winning and becoming a top tier team, will their personality become a contender instead of rebuilding?

guys i think one of us already asked that question: "what about player improvement?" do we still have to do those training sessions? or do the players improve by playing a regular game.....? would be nice if someone could answer on that

I can't wait to get stuck into my Association this year. So many improvements mentioned in that insight.

Yes. It was clearly stated in the insight.

do you know if, after this stellar developer's insight, will there be another insight targeting NBA today 2.0 and its implications in association mode?

It all sounds great, but I've fallen for the incredible 2K hype machine before, and they've let me down. Believe me, I hope it plays really well. All the secondary stuff really doesn't matter if the gameplay is horrible. Here's hoping it plays amazing

Oh and I'm new here on the OS! Hello everyone! Go Lakers! 3-peat!

Re: NBA 2K11 Developer Insights: Association

CPU teams will now be making effective use of the NBA D-League this year. They will be sending down young players who aren’t getting enough playing time to ensure they continue to develop. Remember, the more playing time young players get, the better the chance they have of reaching their full potential. If you draft a player and stash him on your bench for a few years, his development will take a significant hit. Give your players every opportunity to develop into all they can be!
This is not nearly getting enough love on here. The D-League actually mattering and not just being a place to stash players so they don't complain about PT is huge. Having player's growth stunted by not getting enough time on the court is genius. A person may have A+ potential, but it's not automatic. We have to make sure their potential is realized. I am going to love the D-League!

I took note, but the D-League usually cranks out rotation guys, rarely starters. I hope it's not some deal where you send a rook down, call 'em up and then they're ready to start. That rarely happens, irl.
