Dump N' Cheese: The New One-Line Rule for the EASHL

Right before NHL 11 was released, fans found out that EASHL teams could only play one game at a time rather than having multiple dressing rooms like in NHL 10.

The reasoning behind this decision was that the developers wanted more teams playing six-on-six games instead of running multiple games with two-man crews -- the latter being a relatively common tactic in NHL 10.

EA also announced that the points system had been tweaked so that teams playing six-on-six games would be awarded more points compared to teams playing with fewer players. Obviously, EA will not reveal how the ranking points are calculated, but here is the quote that gives us a rough idea. It comes via Garreth Reeder, an online producer for EA.

"Point system is based on a few things: number of players in the game, if you won or lost, what your current level is, and what the level of the other team is. Beating better teams gets you more points. Beating teams with 6 players gets you the most."

In addition to the one-dressing-room rule, NHL 11 has brought us a more advanced matchmaking filter. We can now look for opponents with the same number of players, and we can choose opponents depending on whether they have a human-controlled goalie or not.

Re: Dump N' Cheese: The New One-Line Rule for the EASHL

we had 6 guys in a room for an hour and a half last night at 9pm est.

we used the match making stuff, 18 out of 20 times we couldnt get a match. the two times it worked, the first time the team backed out, why? i dont know we stink lol and the second time got a game..

all in all when we have 6 and just use the X button to find a match without match making we get 2 man teams 9 out of 10 times. why dont ea just eliminate 2 man teams from the eashl? esp with one lobby now. make a min of 4 guys on a team to play.

I like the idea. Otherwise you end up with a few "super teams" made up of countless people who don't know each other. Everyone is there just to power level up.

To me the EASHL should be about smaller groups of people working together as a real team, not just a massive, faceless group.

Consider me one of the teams slapped in the face by this. We've had lots of drama in our club trying to figure this out.

Now if we could only get fair games instead of having super boosted players where you cannot posses the puck at all, all passes go thru your player, but never goes thru their player, every stick lift works as well as poke check but yours dont type of games. How about either A. Let us choose to play in a league where all players are designated as a pre set overall and no boost are involved or B. Matching us up with a same overall type of team. Its so frustrating and im really getting sick and tired of being out boosted instead of out skilled.

hardest thing in the 11 is scoring i am having hard time putting puck in net its always my computer controlled player that gets the goals of my rebounds!
