Saints gave up 76 plays of 20+ yards last season. Good for 31st in the league.

So I played one game with Patch 1.03. Here is what I noticed:

• The pass defense is a little better. It seems like defenders react quicker to passes now. You still have to call the right plays or else your D will get lit up.
• Broken tackles have decreased dramatically. It seemed like almost every first hit was a tackle.
• Play-Action blocking is greatly improved. I do not have to scramble immediately after faking the handoff now.
• Run defense seems to have improved a little as well.
• Kick returns are more or less the same as before. However, it does seem like you can get more yards now. For example, instead of reaching the 15-20, you can get to the 25-30 now.
• The Kick Meter seems to have slowed down just a little bit. The speed is still dependent on the Kicker's ratings and the difficulty.

Overall, the game seems to play much better with the new patch.

for those of you complaining its going to be to easy. this is the fix i like. i had to find ways to kick it super short vs the cpu or i was always pining them on the 10yrd line on kickoffs.

try not running back and forth like an idiot and kickoffs will be more like they are in RL. find a lane and hit it. but then again i play madden as a SIM. i do not play online because of cheesers.

I just don't understand why EVERYTHING needs to be synced up in games. Doesn't make sense. Why does my kicking meter NEED to be synced up with my opponent online? Let me do the kicking on my side and sync up the RESULTS of it to my opponent. Same with baseball. Let me do the pitching movements on my console and then sync the RESULTS of it to the opponent. That way these actions can be smooth as offline with the results then being synced online afterward.

I can't connect for my Online Franchise game now. It errors out and says can't download info.

I can connect to the guy in a lobby. I can connect to strangers just fine. This has never happened before! Please tell me someone has seen this before. Is it the patch? Is it my new ISP at the new apartment?

Its a good patch, fixed few issues, running game is still super hard, but overall its good.

I thought it would have been up the same day as the PS3 ..... just later in the day.... but, I guess I was wrong. Maybe we'll get it in the morning... ???

I obviously can't post my impressions, but I'd like to know from any of you who are posting impressions ... Many of you are mentioning the zone coverage in the game after the patch, It does sound like it's a bit better, but have any of you tested how well players play zones at all based on the particular defensive players attributes ? I've only read of general observations, and I just wanted to know if the player ratings for zone coverage actually seem to make a difference more now.

First negative thing after 20 seconds..it still doesn´t snow in the cut scenes. It´s kind of redicolous that EA can´t fix the easiest things in that damn game. Played 5 Minutes and noticed the better D.

I just downloaded the update aswell. Played 1 5 min quarter and really didn't notice anything different to be very honest. The D seems about the same to me. The Kick/punt return blocking seems to be the same. To be honest the update didn't do nothing for me.

If you are on the 360. Just keep trying. It's out there. There might be alot people downloading at once and there might be a overload on their systems right now. Just keep trying. It will work for you soon. :wink:
