NBA Elite 11 Blog: Hands-On Controls From the Demo

Yaw, A.K.A. "blackflash83" has posted another NBA Elite 11 blog. This one touching on more hands-on controls with the demo.

"Defensive Hops: Use this mechanic while on defense to position your defender in front of the ball handler by pressing the left trigger and a direction on the left stick together (press L2 and a direction on the left analog for PS3). It can be used on the perimeter or in the post. On the perimeter it will result in an explosive defensive push slide. When being backed down in the post, use this control to re-position your defender to the side of your check. You'll then be in position to steal the ball.

Battling down low: User the LS to push a teammate back or away from the basket. A series of LS moves (returning the LS to neutral after every deflection) in the direction you want to move your opponent, will move him in the desired direction. Use this during off-ball post battles, when backing down an opponent, while boxing out for rebounds or when being backed down by an opponent. Note that if you have a weight or strength advantage over your opponent, you'll be more successful."

Elite is absolutely terrible. I didn't even play a minute of it once I wasted my downloads on it. The only way this game should get over 100,000 copies sold is if EA buys them themselves.

i think he probably mad at the game because its just overall bad lol.

Now back on topic, ive figured mostly all these moves and everything from just practicing like crazy. I pretty much have the controls down pack. Now when i go play the retail at my friend house ( since im not wasting my money on it) i can catch him of guard and bust him down lol

It's terrible controls, you're obviously a live/elite fanboy if you think these controls are any good, elite wiped out all of their sales now because casual players won't like the controls and pure nba fans buy 2K.

at first i would of agreed with harman

the first time i played it i was like what is this

but after spending a good hour playing quickgame i really got the hang of it and is alot more fun to play now
in the legendary mode my guy actually did good because i knew what i was doing, and i was the leading scorer

invest an hour or so in it

ps im not a fanboy of elite,

I figured out 99% of this stuff on my own just messing around. Alley oop off the backboard was one of the 1st plays I ever did. Guy didn't finish it though because I did it in a half court setting. I managed to catch it but it banged off the rim.

But anyway alley oop off the back board really isn't nothing new. They had it in Live 04, 2k5, college hoops 2k5, a few march madness games.

All they doing is bringing it back. Hopefully it doesn't get cheesed to death like the inbound alley oop for the past 2 years or so.
