We have just received information from the NFL about the meeting between all the owners of the NFL. With a unanimous vote the Oakland Raiders, our being replaced by the first expansion team since the Houston Texans the Las Vegas Outlaws. Las Vegas has been trying to figure out a way to make its mark in the NFL for some time now and has been getting enough investors to come into this process full force. There are some loopholes with the Outlaws replacing the Raiders that if the Outlaws cannot make some type of impact in the NFL within two years and their attendance is consistent they can stay if not the Oakland Raiders will be back in the NFL. With that being Al Davis is said to be waiting for the fall of the Outlaws so, he can come back into the NFL full force. We have acquired some photos of the jerseys of the outlaws and the magnificent stadium they will be playing in.

• On another not I would like to say hello to everyone on these boards I have been following the forums here for sometime but being a long member of IGN I felt it was time to post and possibly start up a franchise its been awhile since I have done one of these since MVP baseball to be exact. We have just received some information regarding the new expansion team which includes rules and also possible players that could be drafted by the Las Vegas Outlaws. After looking at the rules I would have to say it's going to take a lot for this team to compete in the up coming season with teams that have make key off season moves along with strong drafts. After looking at the list of players available there are some players that could come in and make and impact and even have strong leadership roles right away. There is a good mix of veterans along with some younger guys who just haven't make an impact with there current team. It will be interesting to see the new Expansion rules there have been alot of talk about them.

Hello and welcome back to Sports center we have just received the new rules for the expansion draft let’s take a look and see ahead for Las Vegas

Expansion Draft Rules

1. Las Vegas may select up to two players from each team with a maximum of 30 players.

2. If Las Vegas selects a player over 75 overall, they will forfeit there second pick from that team. If Las Vegas selects a player over 80 overall they will forfeit there second pick and that player will count as two players towards the 30-player maximum.

Expansion Draft Roster Filling

1. Las Vegas is giving the rights to a player of the team they are replacing.
2. For the remaining positions, the free agent pool will be used.
3. Las Vegas may select one 80 overall in the free agents the rest cannot be over a 70 overall.

During the Season Rules

1. 1. If an injury occurs, you may sign a player from Free Agency. This player must be below 65 overall.
2. Las Vegas is allowed 2 trade during the season, and 2 in the offseason. All trades must pass by 80% from owner votes

Off-season Rules

1. You may re-sign a maximum of 8 players, to the following deals
2. 1 x 5 year deal may be given
3. 1 x 4 year deal may be given
4. 2 x 3 year deals may be given
5. 2 x 2 year deals may be given
6. 3 x 1 year deals may be given

Offseason Free Agency Period

1. 1 Player of any overall
2. 1 Player between 75-80 overall
3. 2 Players below 75 overall


Marcus: Wow the rules are pretty clear cut Trey it's going be hard to build a solid team that is going to compete with the consequence that's enforced when picking a good player.

Trey: I agree Marcus picking the team is going to really test this first year coaching staff and this is only a one time deal so the players they pick have to mesh as a team. There is a lot that is going to have to be considered. We will have to wait and see how the draft goes which is set for later today.

What exactly were the rules and qualifications for the players?

Rules have been posted as far as the draft goes.
Qualifications for the players were mainly high contracts of players or younger players that are buried in a depth chart that is full. Alot of the players are very similar to the ones that the Houston Texans were allowed to draft when they came into the league. But mainly age, high contract for a player that is no performing like the team thought played a big part.
