I am no longer in the "honeymoon phase" ( no jab at you at all Seymour ) and completely realize the list of issues. Maybe its because I am older now, and have a lot more patience, but I love the hell out of this game. If I am not playing, I want to be playing it. The MP is just great, and if one of the bugs affect me.......so be it.

I know that my outlook is probably the minority, but I would still recommend this game to any of my friends, with the understanding that there are some issues. The truth of the matter is, I really cant think of 1 game I could suggest that doesn't have a list of problems.

I am not looking to badmouth anyone who has a differing opinion than mine, as everyones opinion is a valid one. I just have a different outlook these days. I just want a game to be fun, and if there are issues, for a developer to understand that it needs attention.
That is kind of the way I feel too. I am not a F1 Fan in real life, so I guess that helps me with this game. I believe in the theory, "The less you know about a sport in real life, the more you enjoy it's video game representation." So, although there are issues with this game, for me personally it doesn't bother me as much. Seems that CM is working diligently on some fixes. So, until then I will play Time Trial/Multiplayer.

By the way, here is a guy that already completed one season. His workaround for the Pit Bug, seemed pretty straightforward. http://community.codemasters.com/for...-comments.html

One last video I'd like to post for anyone on the fence from getting this game. I'm just a casual racer fan and I am so far enjoying this game as much as any racing game I've ever had.

Apparently the issue here is that the quali times are randomly generated in a way. They aren't actually related to the laps being done by the AI cars. One of the devs responded to this very question because someone had spotted that they were going just as fast as an AI car but were considerably slower on the timing sheets.

I think that's the key. I bought it mostly for single player and the career mode and that's probably where issues pop up the most.

scripted qualifying times no matter what the difficulty and events on the track is just about the worst bug i´ve ever heard about in any sports game.

Now in the CM forums there´s a report that even races are scripted that way ...

so at least i´m not going crazy ... Still, that really sucks because as of now there is nearly no way in hell for me to compete in qualifying.

Could someone please explain what FFB means ?

FFB = Force Feedback (Racing Wheel Rumble, basically)

For what it's worth I'm in week 6 of my career and the only bug I've seen is freezing. every once and a while the game will freeze for about 10 to 15 seconds then it plays again. Xbox 360.

Are you running 100% race length? From what I understand from the Codemaster forums, a lot of these bugs don't manifest themselves unless you run longer than the 20% style races (tire blowouts, AI not pitting, etc.).

Looking at the Codemaster forum and the hundreds of posts regarding the dozens of bugs in the game and wow I've never seen a bug thread grow that long so quickly. It seems the deeper you get into career mode the bugs start to multiply.

At this point I'm thinking this game might actually get recalled. Has this ever happened before with a game because I don't remember.

It's a good possibility because you will need the mother of all patches to fix all the apparent problems and it might be just easier to give consumers a brand new disc and take thier time to try and fix all the issues from scratch.

I picked up the game yesterday and was only able to play for a little over an hour before i crashed for the night. So far I haven't seen any bugs. Keep in mind I only did time trial mode, a couple practice and qualifying sessions, and a few 3 lap races, so I haven't pitted in race or anything.

But has anyone noticed that the game handles completely differently in time trial mode than race mode? I used a Lotus in time trial with all assists off and the brakes weren't really locking and I could mash the throttle coming out of turns without spinning or anything. Then, I go to grand prix mode and try to drive like that in the practice session, and I'm spinning all over the place and locking my brakes and shooting past corners.

What also really bugs me that there are (as far as i can tell) no indicators as to how good or bad a car is, what are strength and weaknesses (top speed, grip etc), the same goes for the drivers.

Obviously the results somewhat reflect real life, but still there should propably be some sort of indicator for theese things.

Still, i´m having a blast right now, just finished my first career race finishing 8th with the Toro Rosso team. I´ll admit that i used all 4 re-does and raced on amateur

Was even 5th with 2 laps to go (30% race, 20 laps) but then made a huge mistake after being hassled by Vettel and Massa for a couple rounds. My teammate finished 4th

I love this site but the one thing I hate is the honeymooners who insist the game is great no matter how many unacceptable flaws there is because it's a new game. A little more objectivity guys. Or at least play all modes before heaping tons of praise. You're loving it now because it's new which is fine but don't downplay the numerous bugs and glitches that make this game impossible to enjoy long term. There is no excuse for this game to have this many problems. It's a racing game which should be alot easier to program than Madden or the Show where there are alot more variables to worry about.

A month from now 90% who love it now will be saying the exact opposite if nothing is fixed. I can't remember the last time I've seen a new game with this many bugs. Not until the majority of the bugs are addressed which I'm not sure they ever will be. This isn't EA where they are good at issuing patches so they may never be rectified if Codemasters feels the sales figures don't justify it.

I'm just a little bit bitter from the UFC 2010 Undisputed fiasco where the 1st few days everyone said how amazing the game was and I bought it because of that praise from OS only to find out the game was a complete disaster and took my losses and traded it in a week later. I don't want to waste my money the same way with this game.

There is no excuse for the lack of quailty control for this game, Sony made F1CE just after the PS3 came out and they didn't have a quarter of the bugs this game seems to have and that was for a brand new gaming system at the time. I just was really looking forward to this game and Codemasters seems to have done a half assed job.

If this was Madden I would certainly agree with you, that game is given way too much leeway around here. However, what I think we're seeing with F1 2010 is people recognizing that while the game has its' setbacks the positive still far outweighs the negative. Also, most of the issues listed will certainly be patched.

To clarify, there's not necessarily a FFB problem, it's just that the FFB isn't half as realistic as iRacing, FVA, or most other sims.

Secondly, I'm sorry but you're absolutely wrong in stating that a racing game should be easier to program than Madden. The amount of physics and engineering data involved trumps anything that Madden has to develop. It has long been said by various developers that racing sims are some of the hardest games to program properly.

& no one is BSing you here bro. I honestly have played the game for multiple hours now and thoroughly enjoy it, I have not run into one particular issue that has made me want to put the game aside. I'm a huge F1 and racing fan in general so I love the product personally, maybe those less into racing wouldn't be as forgiving for some of the flaws, but you can't say what does or doesn't make the game enjoyable for others. The good and the bad has been clearly laid out for you, it's up to you to weigh the pro's and con's and decide whether or not the game would still be of interest to you, but don't tell others that we're just honeymooning. Clearly when you look at all of the flaws listed I don't see how you can say anyone is being biased or trying to hide anything anyway.

Well I got it last night (pc) and haven't yet been able to log in to Windows Live. Password is correct and have tried outside of the game and can log in just fine. I even created a new account it just says the servers or my network is down.

                                Well said Lakers!

This is not a franchise 20 year in the making like Madden. F1 2010 is a new beginning and the positives, for me at least, far outweigh the negatives.

All games have the same kind of release issues. Honestly, just hit up any publisher forum the week a game is released (or OS for that matter). You will see thread after thread of complaints - some legit and some just nit picking.

What matters is that the publisher/developer stand behind their work and try to do whats right by the customer. So far I do not see any indication that CM is not going to do this.

Sure, they might not be able to reverse all the design choices they made, but if they fix the actual bugs and try to add in the little stuff people are missing most then I will happily line up next year for F1 2011.
