So if NBA ELITE 12 Doesn't live up to its own hype, Is EA BBall Over?

Well, lets see. NBA Elite 11 was canceled probably in their best interest to reboot the ea basketball franchise. Let's say elite 12 comes out after a year(if they decide not to work on elite 11) and its supposed to be the big game of the fall, etc and its either half way decent or it flops. What I'm saying is, that the sales may not reflect its good reviews., etc etc.

Will NBA ELITE be done as far as we know it?

I'm only asking because I saw how quickly they pulled the trigger on live 10 into other direction after it scored well, but did not sell well.

i think that ea bball would be over, considering this recent decision to cancel nba elite 11..I think that already, all EA gamers are upset at the game, but happy that they decided to take it off and put more time into it considering the complaints. now, its almost like they have no other option in failing this next year..With dealing with a world of fans you dont get a third chance really..so its either sink or swim with the next release...im not sure what they would do with ea basketball..otherwise. if not doing as well as they needed to to gain fans and support back with the game.

Delayed, not cancelled. There's a different.

If they're able to build a good game, eventually sales will follow. That is a big 'if' however. If they don't show great signs of improvement by '12 this series could very well be history. I am hoping for the best. I'm not a fan of monopolies.

Elite 11 is not coming out. Don't buy the "delay bs" EA needs to take the whole year that way no excuses can be made about not enough time.

I believe this is the final straw for them. SP/Online/Dynasty all should be fully functional, injuries, moving refs. All the bells and whistles need to be in. NO MORE EXCUSES or I truly believe this will be the end of EA Basketball

maybe the game needs to leave EAC and go to other studio.

don't look at it as they have the whole, two year cycle. That's nonsense and its a way to get trapped into overhyped. NBA 11 elite was year one, ok? Lol. This is cycle 2, nba elite 12. So basically, 11's been finished, and now they are working on 12, minus side patches that would have come out for 11.

So they should be ready to go. I hope its a project, or else it needs to change hands or die. Let 505 games buy the license and use the euphoria engine and just bam. go at it.

I'm hoping Elite revamps the whole game. I know, alot to ask seeing elite 11. but I do not want to see those player models or skeletons. centers are just taller versions of pg's. and just as agile. that's not acceptable.

That would be a terrible idea. I don't want any game to be mixed with Elite.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

IMO yes Ea ball would be done if elite 12 wasn't great. They had a good start with live 10 but then just completely changed the whole scheme. They have to come back strong with the next b ball game or get rid of it and surrender to 2k

I find it hard to believe that with only one basketball game available come October 5th, people on here still won't pick up 2K11 when it's more than playable and represents a solid NBA game. I think if EA stopped developing a NBA game, some people at that point would play Live 10 like it's NFL 2K5 or something.

I for one have kept on playing Madden all these years and if Live/Elite were the only NBA on the market, I'd pick it and play it with an open mind. It's amazing how people here stay loyal even when there's something else out there that's actually good.

No. EA has made bad games before and still bounced back. NHL was lagging pretty badly in the PS2 era and look what it has become during this generation.
