Re: do goalies get injuried
Seems like the CPU goalies can be injured when simming games, but not in actual played games. No fatigue either. -
Re: do goalies get injuried
They do not get fatigued. In BAGM I still play the backup as I prefer realism to having Brodeur play 82 games. And I'm yet to see a goalie injury in BAGM, but I also haven't simmed any games (haven't played much BAGM yet... waiting for an opening day roster update). Last year goalies only got injured in simulated games, so I'm assuming it's the same thing this year.Comment

Re: do goalies get injuried
what was the reason for his injury? just curious.
hoepfully EA will get back having the goalies having fatigue so BAGM will have more kinda realistic "feeling' into it.Comment

Re: do goalies get injuried
Yes they do.
Tim Thomas in my current season had an injury and I couldnt use him. I had to call up the goalie from the P Bruins.

Was that while you were actually playing the season game, or did that happen via sim....
That woulld be awesome to see your goalie stretch out to make a save and have an injurie....Comment

Re: do goalies get injuried
They get injured, i just have yet to see it in game while i was playing.
I just lost Halak to a hip injury for a month.
Simming seems to get you many more injuries.Comment

Re: do goalies get injuried
If i remember hearing correctly something about the NHLPA and Goalies so that they can't be injured IN-GAME....i forget where i heard it but i remember hearing it.Comment

Re: do goalies get injuried
I think it may just be something with it being tough to have happen in the game.
I mean in NHL11 you can have a guy get checked, and that would make sense for him to be injured, but i can only imagine how angry people would be if their goalie just slid over to make a save, and pulled his groin and was out for a month.
Who knows.
There were always the rumors that we couldn't have breaking sticks because the stick makers wouldn't allow it, but we have those now.
Maybe once goalie collisions are implemented we will see injuries to them.Comment

Re: do goalies get injuried
I hope we see this for '12'.
It's pretty unrealistic not to need depth at the goalie position. [unless you sim games] Myself, I play my backup on back to back dates. So depth at this position at least means something. Yep...goalie collisions would be a very welcome addition.1969 NFL ChampionsComment

Re: do goalies get injuried
True, but if it had a separate slider/option then no one would complain. Hell, in game goalie injuries were in NHL 97 for the Genesis I believe, so it can't be that complicated.I think it may just be something with it being tough to have happen in the game.

Re: do goalies get injuried
Even if they were injured after the game, that is to say you would get a note from the medical staff or something, saying your goalie may pulled a hammy and will be re-evaluated tomorrow. Then at least there's reason for depth at that position. But IMO, the whole injury engine needs an overhaul. They need to implement the IR and LTIR to be able to get realistic injuries to work with the salary cap. I don't think it would be too difficult. But then again, that would require some work on BaGM, pfff.Last edited by Roscosuper; 10-20-2010, 10:25 AM.Comment
