    The Return of Terrible Kickers?!

In my San Diego State dynasty I have come across many teams missing PATs... Went and looked at the Freshman Kickers and noticed that I wasn't the only one that got screwed (I didn't get a single K commit, so I have a Walk On....

    His Kick Power?.... - 40
    Kick Accuracy?.... - 47
    OVR?.... 43

There are 28 New Kickers with less than 50 KAC and 19 with less than 55 KPW.

A few interesting facts (in my dynasty anyway)...

Top Team's With Crap Freshman Kickers...

    Ohio State (46 OVR)
    Boise State (45 OVR)
    Oregon State (45 OVR)
    Mizzou (46 OVR)
    UNC (46 OVR)
    Penn State (48 OVR)
    LSU (48 OVR)
    Arizona St. (44 OVR)
    K State (47 OVR)
    ...

Did I miss a patch or something?... Or is everyone getting this?

The game haws been like this since launch. Really don't know how EA can mess something up this bad, but they found a way, not surprising really either.

For some reason, Awareness matters for kickers too. Really effects their overall level.

Adjust your sliders; increase kicker accuracy and power. Problem solved.

But then you run the risk of allowing an actual Kicker to blast 70 yard kicks.

Sliders don't work for sim stats, so if I am not mistaken, these terrible kickers will be missing way too many PATs and FGs throughout the year.

No excuse for the lack of decent kickers. Every college program has at least one kicker on their roster that can kick it 35 yards. There are at least 10-20 kickers every year that can't even kick it 35 yards or more with any type of accuracy. That is just silliness.

              No excuse.

Same goes for FB's and P's ... they are so lowly rated on the recruiting board that the top teams seem to ignore them and end up with walkon's.

It's even worse now than in '09 for ps2 when there was no point in recruiting a kicker when the walk-on would be rated like 84.

I understand making a walk on kicker suck, but at least give him decent power. A 55 overall walk on is fine as long as he is capable of getting it to the uprights from 35-40 yards out.

It also sucks that if you took forever to make a bunch of generic kickers/punters to recruit, teams would just hoard them anyways.

                      Not true at all.....

I'm actually glad they started to rate kickers low....for years all they have ever done was rate kickers way too accurate for college and now they are making them more realistic

You can't look at the ratings and assume they are too low especially for kickers because ratings in this game effects kickers differently.....they still knock down kicks even in the 40's

There's only a select few of them that even make the pro's and most of them don't have great leg strength or accuarcy.

I think too many people are making a big deal out of nothing....in years past a guy with 60 awareness could make any kick in the game now i see kicks wide, short and totally off the mark occasionally this is the most realistic experience I've seen by this series in terms of variety of kicks you see missed from game to game.

In fact i hate these types of complaints because eventually EA will go right back to making scrubs become Ray Guy again......

Every year people complained about Kickers being too accurate now they are crying over ratings.....heck if it effects gameplay that bad just boost up the darn sliders.

Their ratings don't hurt SIM stats much at all so what's the point of the complaint?

If it is effecting your ability to hit kicks during game play around with the sliders......

But i think ultimatley this stuff is going to lead directly to EA doing the same thing they did to QBA beefing it up for no reason just because of these types of complaints.

PM, lousy walk-on kickers ARE a good thing, the complaint is when they're so awful they can't even kick 35 yards, which any kid from HS can do consistently after a few practice sessions.

I like to adjust sliders as much as anyone, but I like to keep it equal in the kicking game for HUM and CPU and not have to change it based on my own personnel.

If I start my dynasty with a good kicker, I don't want to have to increase the kicking power after he graduates if I fail to land any recruits. Same for the CPU, I'd rather not change the kicking sliders every game based on the opponent kicker's skill level.

And we have 2 of them, ugh.

The recruiting pool needs more generated kickers.

Using your sliders with CPU accuracy boosted to 100, watch these low rated kickers miss roughly 50% of extra points. Anything outside of a 25 yarder is next to impossible. In an online dynasty, you couldn't change the special teams sliders for each person's game. Kickoffs are terrible and might as well put a CB in as the kickoff man if I raise the sliders. I'll get a better tackler that way. There's no way to replicate the emotions and pressure that a kicker goes through, so I doubt that we'll ever see accuracy perfect, but it's no excuse to have them this low.
