WTH Formation Is This? How Do I Stop It?
I was playing a guy online earlier and he was using Wisconsin and he had everyone lined up with the O-Linemen so it looked like he has 8-9 OL's. The only person that didn't line up next to the OL was the QB and HB. I was getting killed. He kept running and running against me for big yards. I don't know if he ran a power or counter but it was unstoppable.

Re: WTH Formation Is This? How Do I Stop It?
My guess is that it was goal line set. If he had literally 9 Offensive Linemen he probably just formation subbed some OL in for the Tight Ends.
- To stop a counter, bring a double B-Gap (between Tackle and Guard) blitz from your Linebackers. The backside Linebacker should have a wide open lane because the backside guard pulls on a counter while the Tackle blocks down.
- To stop the power, bring blitzers of the edge. The playside blitzing LB/Safety should stretch the last blocker on the line far enough into the backfield that the RB is forced to cut up into traffic. The backside blitzer/end should be in position of the RB tries to reverse his field. A double corner blitz would be great here.
- If your opponent is stretching the sideline (tosses/stretch handoffs) call a zone blitz. Call a play in which your corners/linebackers sit in the flats and then blitz someone between the flat and the DE. In goal line defense, "Flat Slide" is a good playcall.

9 O-Linemen? How is that even a legal formation, then?Comment

Re: WTH Formation Is This? How Do I Stop It?
other people have commented on people using wisconsin and running nothing but goal line formations but maybe it was some type of ace formation, though i cant image 9 men on the line is a legal formationComment

Re: WTH Formation Is This? How Do I Stop It?
He probably misspoke on the 9 men on the line, it's most likely 7 on the line, with the 2 wings out of the ace formation. Formation sub everyone not at QB/HB to an offensive lineman. I do this in my goalline sets for extra blockers.NFL: Green Bay Packers
MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
NBA: Denver Nuggets
NHL: Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins
NCAA: Air Force Falcons, Penn State Nittany LionsComment

Look at Nevada's goal line set. No FB, 5 linemen, and three or 4 TE's all rammed together like an Ace Dbl Wing or somethingComment

Re: WTH Formation Is This? How Do I Stop It?
its ACE JUMBO HEAVY
Nebraska, Eastern Michigan, Nevada
Originally it has 3 TEs and a FB spread out. When I use it, I Formation sub Two extra lineman into the inside TE spots. Its pretty powerful but not invincible. Even if the guy you played had 4 Extra fat guys. lol
Just play it like the dude above says. If he is using the 4 extra- then try spreading out the O-Line, Bring people in the Box, play that zone and BE the Safety on the open side of the Field. I have seen people handle me many different ways when I run it. Maybe you should do the same formation online and see what people do to you trying to stop it.

Re: WTH Formation Is This? How Do I Stop It?
Goal line D...the flat side...or is it flat buzz? Can't remember, but that works well when anticipating the HB screen. If he has all O-line men, I highly doubt hes going to pass, so I would just keep running that until he changes formations.Comment

Re: WTH Formation Is This? How Do I Stop It?
Any type of heavy blitz should be fairly successful, as if he has OL everywhere he isn't going to pass it very well.NFL: Green Bay Packers
