After playing a couple games of NBA 2K11, expecting it to be the same game as last year, same old animations, I find myself feeling like I was playing an entirely new game. I admit, I probably wasn't going to buy 2K and was going to buy Elite instead. For me, and probably a bunch of others, Elite not coming out might have been the best thing for everyone. They now have no choice to play the best basketball game there is. I have been an EA guy forever, but it is hard to pass this game up. I think this game is probably the best sports game that has ever came out. The commentary makes the game so much better, and not to mention the presentation, which is the best I've ever seen in any sports game. But the game seems like it has changed so much in the actual gameplay aspect. Now instead of having the feeling that my players are going to fall over when their sprinting, it's like their actually running and the new animations are so plentiful, that is hard to see repetitive moves or shots when driving the lanes. I didn't check to see if there was any threads like this already so sorry if I made a thread that has already been posted about, but personally, I put this as the greatest sports game of all time, no questions for me.

It is quite good. Definitely one of the best sports games ever, but I would still give the crown to The Show. -

I was playing it for hours on end today and it is a truly beautiful game, animations are sound and not like it was last year, last year it was very robotic. Definitely, no doubt in my mind, the best basketball game of all time. It is the deepest by far as you can do so many things (my player, MJ challenges, multiple associations as there are so many fun teams to play with), it just blows me away. If I were to rate it I would say 9.7 out of 10, only because I feel nothing deserves a perfect rating because something can always be improved.

Lucky for you...you ended up with the right game. I vote yes, best b-ball game all time. Even finally beat College Hoops 2K8 (except no Highlight show like CH2K8)

I haven't seen this much positive response from a game. Some say honeymoon phase, I say look back at NBA2K10: Day One, we had complaints!
Heck even The Show had complaints this year (redundancy being the biggest one).

I haven't played The Show and some of the other sports titles that people consider great, but I can definitely say that it's the best basketball game ever. I know you have to consider how the game compares along the lines of different generations and stuff but yes it's better than Double Dribble was back in the day.....better than NBA Jam was back in the day....and so on.......Comment

The multiple generic players on the greatest teams was a let down but I'm sure replacement rosters will be made. Other than that the game is awesomeI may be wrong, but I doubt it.Comment

Easily the best B-ball game ever made, I do not think there is any doubt when you combine the great gameplay, graphcis, AI both on the court and in the front office..no question the best b-ball game ever made, wonderful job 2k.

It's early for me to say because I have only played 2 games but it is easiest the best basketball game ever! However, best sports game ever I'll have to wait to decided on that. The Show is number 1 right now for me but it's possible this game may over take that. I have to start a franchise and play it for a few months to see if the experence gets better each time or if it stays the same. What makes The Show great is that every game is a new experience and I found myself getting more and more hooked on the game after over 100 games played. To me that's what make a great game.Comment

Agree somewhat. I do think a lot of people quick to say best "sports" ever might be XBox people. Because The Show has been this deep and realistic for several years now.
But I can't say flat out "nope." NBA 2K11 is so impressive I have to put these two neck and neck.The Lord is my shepard.Comment
