Cheerleader Chants

[OMT]

Hey guys, we are going to be recording new cheerleader audio for NCAA 12 and want to throw in some team specific chants. These are not necessarily what the crowd chants, but the cheer squad. Please post if you know any that your favorite team does. A link to video/audio of it would excellent if it is out there.

I don't know how many team specific cheerleader chants there are, but you can't go wrong with more "DE-FENSE (clap) (clap)" or "Let's go (nickname)" chants in the game.

Before the game and then occassionally during the game (in team time outs, tv timeouts, etc) the Nebraska cheerleaders lead the fans into cheer where one side of the stadium yells "Husker!" and the other side answers "Power!"

I second the defense chant on 3rd and 4th down. Get the cheerleaders wrapped up into the game, as they are the ones that start pumping the crowd up and get them to start yelling DEFENSE. Make it so loud that it is defeaning, shaking the controller, scribbling play art (even on experienced quarterbacks)...homefield advantage should be the focus of presentation this year. Make me FEAR to go to Ohio State and play the buckeyes!

To go along with the cheerleader chants, how about have the cheerleaders lined up on the field and have them cheering, and holding up a team banner for the teams to rip in half and run through on their entrance!! That would add a lot of excitement!

For Wisconsin, we have cheerleader chants of "We Want More." and then the student section yells "beer."

And there's something to the degree of "Lets go big Red" or something like that. I don't remember very well, I'll youtube it when I get back home.

There are probably some more chants, but the student section doesn't usually go along with them. I can't remember ever chanting along with one in all the games I've been to. Most of the people I've talked to don't really like the cheerleaders much. After the tuba players, they get the most spite from the student section.

ND's "WE-ARE-N-D" chant that the cheerleaders lead around the stadium, probably too long.

Also the "Hear Come The Irish" chant.

Yeah they do the "Beer" chant but I doubt that will make it into the game...

When the Badgers are in the red zone they lead a chant of "Let's Go Red" followed by a clap. They do this about 3 times before each play. There are more but they're not really worth mentioning.

Texas A&M doesn't have traditional cheerleaders but we do have Yell Leaders which lead the student section in yells/chants throughout the games. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMStf...eature=related

There are probably 12-15 yells that are performed throughout the game including my personal favorite where everyone yells "Beat the Hell Outta (Opposing Team Name Here)".

I know these aren't cheerleader cheers as much as crowd yells but it would be really cool to see some of the Kyle Field atmosphere represented in the game.

Just a thought Adam,

As an intern, I'm on the sidelines every Saturday and with a competition goin on between the crowd, music being played over the loud speakers and 200+ band playing, I have yet to hear anything by the cheerleaders of pep squad outside of coordinated stadium chants. Unlike basketball, they're just not heard unless your seated by them.

My thinking is that with this inclusion, would it be best to have stadium/crowd chants vs specific cheerleader chants?

Arkansas State Red Wolves

Its cheerleader led, but gets the crowd going too...

One half of the field chants with the cheerleaders "Arkansas State"

Then the other half comes back with " Red Wolves"

They do it usually on 3rd down defensive plays
