I don't believe there's a way to use Classic teams for online play. I was hoping for this for, at least, UNranked online games against buddies. Unless I'm missing something, I don't believe it exists.

I hope that this can be somehow patched in as it would be a nice counter to players who select the HEAT.

I'm wondering the same thing...Why put Jordan in if I can't play with him online? I don't wanna play the CPU all day long...that gets boring....I can't belive there haven't been replies to this thread...Do that many people really not mind playing the CPU?

One of the biggest selling points was Jordan and classic teams from his era and not being able to play them online..at least unranked is unacceptable to me. Between that and the utter neglect of the online experience by the devs is the biggest disappointment to me about this game.

Don't get me wrong..I really like the game and I enjoy it but those things should have been implemented much better into the online experience.

I'll be VERY disappointed if they don't enable online play with classic teams. I'd love to play with/against Jordan online. Even with the other teams like the Blazers and old Lakers. That would be sweet!

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but online is not a strong suit for 2k. Online is not a priority so an omission like this doesn't surprise me. If they put half the effort into online design as they did offline the experience would be much improved.

Here's the real question: is there going to be an Online Insight? Has this been confirmed or assumed?

If not, the way they've been dancing around subjects that many people care about is kind of scary. Tons of information about Classic Teams...but can we use them online? Not a word. Tons of information about playbooks...but can we save them online? Not a word. If they truly are saving all this for an Online Insight, that would be great. But after last year, I no longer just assume there's an Online Insight, and I'm starting to get a little doubtful.

I'm not going to argue the need for new servers on a peer to peer game...but I'd definitely agree online stability is a MAJOR issue. That being said, if I could use my Showtime Lakers online with the exact same stability we have in 2K11, I am considerably happier....so there is a point.
