I cannot believe I just heard Randy Shannon say this on the radio.

Listen to clip starting at 13:10.

The question was asked was, 'If you don't win the coastal side of this thing, it would be a big disappointment.'

Randy responds with, 'I don't think it would be a big disappointment...'

Seriously? It wouldn't be a big disappointment if Miami didn't win the coastal this season? What is this man's goals for the season?

That is just coach speak trying to down play expectations. I don't ever see Miami getting above top 15-20 range with Shannon as the HC.

The longer Miami keeps Randy Shannon the happier the Seminole Nation will be.

that has to be the lamest statement ever made by a coach, but not really surprising. He doesn't have to give a damn about winning the division, since his job is safe as long as the program is clean and gets to mediocre bowl games.

            And it was true.

Look at what happens with competent coaching and talented kids. I am afraid Mark Stoops will be getting a good HBC offer this firing season with what he has done. Thankfully Greg Hudson was brought in as the DC-in-waiting.

Didn't listen to the link, but thats just terrible. I used to really like Shannon, but every passing day I dislike him more and more. He doesn't fire up the team, doesn't prepare them well for big game, never shows emotion, and the list goes on.

Miami has the talent of a top 10 team, but the coaching staff all around will never get them there. Its so frustrating too. The SEC isn't just good because they get good players, but the coaches in that conference know how to get players to play to and above their potentials. If Miami had a coaching staff equal to the caliber of an SEC team, Big 10 team, or even some other teams around the country they would be in title talks year in and year out, but instead we are left here wondering why the program has been run into the ground.

Shalala is a big reason too. As long as we are a clean program, a 6-6 season is fine. I know the future of these kids are more important than what they can do on a football field. But its possible to be a clean program and win titles.

Miami fans need to unite and let the university know what we want.

So tell me Mr. 'Cuse, what does being a Bama fan have to do with it? It was coach speak and Shannon has never been able to keep Miami above top 15-20, so what did I say that was so outrageous?

You're absolutely right. Shalala doesn't give a good *** **** about Miami football.

I'm telling you, that and the fact that Miami will never shell out the money for an outstanding coach is the final nail in the coffin.

We Miami fans will have to wake up and smell the coffee that our program is dead. I'd rather not watch football at all.

Well he has a 3 year deal but it was known he left his brother to improve his stock and with what he has done with this defense I'd be amazed if he doesn't get an offer from a non-BCS FBS school this offseason, I hope he holds out for a BCS position though.

No they don't. Miami has talent, but you're going a bit far saying they have top 10 talent.
