accessing NBA today with NBA 2k11 on ps3

Hi folks,

As a blind owner of NBA 2k11, i've got a question for anyone who can answer. As you obviously know from the previous nba releases, the NBA today calendar always appeared at the start of the game once you'd selected play now I think. I did like this because I could have the CPU play the game and enjoy the presentation aspects.

This seems to be slightly different in NBA 2k11. When the game starts, if I go in to quick game by pressing X, all I can do is select "ranked, unranked and another option for rosters". If I place the cursor on quick game and press X, no NBA today appears, just a team select screen with the celtics. My sighted partner has told me that NBA today is written at the top of the screen, with the date set to august the first. I have been able to work out that if I press X on "Ranked" then quickly quit out of this by pressing circle, this brings me to the calendar list but this seems a little unusual. My question basically then is this. How can I bring up todays calendar with the scheduled games for today listed without having to click ranked?

Any help appreciated and i'm aware that it's not something sighted users consider.

i am having the same problem too. I go redownload the living rosters everytime i start a game just to get the NBA today feature to work. Ther has got to be a way to get the NBA today menu to come up at the start of a game

Exactly right. I honestly thought i'd been doing something wrong, naturally needing sighted help every time just to even get a game going isn't much fun as you'll appreciate.

Thanks of course though, at least I know it's the game itself.

How do you play the game if you cant see it? Do you have any special equipment to help you play?

Go to the main menu and go to features than click living rosters, it should download, than quit from that 2k insider thing, a new menu will apear, go to the bottom and click exit. Once done it should redirect you to the quick game menu and it should say todays date and all the games of today . I hope this helps and is what your looking for

Problem is if you edited your roster with Jordan sneakers or anything else. The system will auto load your custom roster overwriting living rosters. Making NBA Today unavailable the only solution is to first backup your custom roster(i did so on psp) and delete it off system. During next load up a fresh roster will be downloaded and saved giving you excess to NBA Today games. I guess adding any sneakers to players or edit of roster will cause this problem again. I hope 2k can stop the system from auto loading which is at the source of the problem.

That seems helpful enough. I'm guessing that this will need to be done every time the game is reloaded, in other words, after playing a different game disk and loading NBA 2k11 back.

I tend to just simulate most of the NBA 2k11 games, just because of the difficulty. I can manage many other games such as Madden, purely because having a good decoder and surround system helps a lot, not to mention the commentary has really improved over the years and keeps up a good deal better than it used too.

I'm glad you asked though, it's important I think for developers to consider such things. NBA 2k11 has got the audio perfect, the access needs a little work but the NBA today issue will probably be patched in a later update.

i dont necessarly think its a problem with the rosters, becasue i have never edited my rosters at all. The living rosters load everytime i start a game, but i cant get the NBA today to start unless i go redownload the rosters again.
