I was wondering do you guys find it hard to play a sports games during that sport's off season ( eg: baseball in winter, hockey in fall ) for me I find it not as fun to play them when that sport is not currently being played.

    Re: Sports games in Offseason

I no longer buy main sports games anymore....until the excellent NBA 2k11...and I will hold onto it til about April or so and sell it while it holds some value. I cannot play a sports game out of season.

Only sports games I play year around really have no true "season"...Fight Night Round 4, Virtua Tennis 2009, and FIFA World Cup 2010.

      Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

i never play a sports game when the actual sport is not being played in real life. I mean Maybe a month after, but thats it, then its on to the next sports season.

I'll usually play baseball games year round, especially The Show. It's my favorite sport and it usually takes me the entire year to finish a few seasons with out simulating.

I play Madden during the season after games I watch on tv.
However, after the season ends, I lose my zest to play, just because my mind is no longer on football.

Same with other sports I like...

I can play 2k bball year round, but Madden? Nah. NCAA I haven't in recent memory because I've traded it in by now until this year.

Same regarding NCAA but I can usually play soccer games year around because the season is pretty much that.

FIFA 10 PC - year round
PYS 2010 - would say just during baseball season, but the game is simply so good you can play it in the offseason
NBA 2K11 - basketball season, and the endless search for the "perfect slider" puts it down a notch. it's an incredible game, but it's more of a once in a while thing due to the lack of testing.
NCAA Football 2005 - year round, although during football season is amazing even now
Smackdown vs RAW 2006 - year round
Day of Reckoning 2 - year round
Victorious Spirits PSP - year round, especially fun the week of a big fight
Victorious Boxers 2 : Fighting Spirit - year round, see above
Tiger Woods 11 Wii with Motion+ - year round

just off the top of my head...

Also, to be thorough, I should also include :

Hajime No Ippo 2 : Victorious Road - year round, endless replay value and unmatched polish

Formula One 2006 - year round. Found this game for PS2 a few years ago, and I always end up coming back to it. Don't even love racing, but it doesn't get better than this game. Can do full length races and there's never a dull moment. Sense of speed and technical driving skill in F1 06 is unparalleled in the world of gaming.

Once the team I root for in each sport is eliminated, I usually lose interest out of disgust lol.
