Maybe you should go back to when I posted in game one of this series when I commented that it didn't matter who won this series because the Phillies would destroy the Braves or Giants. But yes, I say that because I'm so bitter. I know it bothers you that I don't think the Giants are great.

What a crummy way to go out.
Well it was a helluva career Bobby! You were truly one of the greats. See you in Cooperstown in 5 years.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

You mean 150 posts in after Lincecum had already strucken out 12 people?

Seems like you turned against Atlanta 6 innings into game 1.

Re: NLDS: Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants
I didn't turn on the Braves. I never once said going into this series that I thought we would win or had a great team. I could look at the lineup and tell the chances weren't great. I stated how crappy our hitters were in Game 1 because they were swinging at garbage constantly. That's just stating the obvious, not turning on the Braves."The best thing about being a football player at Alabama...winning...winning." -Mark Barron

Re: NLDS: Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants
Didn't get to post at the end of the game because stuff was going on, but I can't be disappointed in this season at all. I am proud of this team for the injuries they had to deal with and overcome. I wish Bobby could have gone out with a win, but it was a fun, fun year.
More importantly, I can't wait for next year. This team is building for something special and I think they will challenge the Phils next year for the East. Great young pitching, great young arms in the pen, and some good young players. We need to add a bat or two and we are set. I am hoping that if Chipper comes back he is willing to play first until Freeman is ready.
Bottomline, this team has less to do going into this offseason than they have in years."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: NLDS: Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants
I completely agree. I really think Chipper needs to play 1B. Then it gives Infante somewhere to play (put him at 2B, Prado at 3B), and makes it so we don't have to rush Freeman. Then we can spend money on an outfielder. I don't want to spend money on a 1B that might not play half the season if Freeman is ready. But I don't want to put all of our eggs in the Freeman basket. I still remember how we did that with Scott Thorman, and how much that set this team back. But we have a good staff - Jurrjens is better than he was this year (though not as good as he was in 09). Hanson will keep developing into a legit ace, Hudson is still there, and Lowe is always dependable. And I like Minor, and he gives us a lefty. And Medlan looks good. The pen is good, and they'll probably add someone to help set up, though, to be honest, I want Venters and Kimbrel being the guys at the back end, and Moylan is still there too.Didn't get to post at the end of the game because stuff was going on, but I can't be disappointed in this season at all. All I see we really need is a power hitter in LF (Carl Crawford would be nice, but I'd take Werth too, and I'd settle for Burrell or Ordonez). I think we need a real leadoff hitter as well. Not enough power to mash on this team, and not enough speed to play small ball. I think Dunn would be good, despite his terrible defense. He strikes out a ton, but he's hit 38 or more hr's 7 straight years. That kind of power suddenly changes the whole lineup. You stick him Cleanup. Chipper gets pitched to more often, gets some fastballs, and probably gets some more HR's. Heyward also probably gets more fastballs, and hopefully this offseason he learns to hit the ones up and in. And B-Mac bats fifth and gets a ton of RBI since the 4 guys ahead of him have career OBP's .356, .393, .405, and .381.Last edited by DonkeyJote; 10-12-2010, 03:03 AM.Comment
