Re: First game with 2k11 with Cavs....are they this bad or game learning curve?

If it was your first game with them, or first game in general, then that's what it is. It's beyond possible you can succeed with any team. Much like yourself I've been playing 2k for years, since Dreamcast to be exact. And the reality is this game is so improved and so different because it's more realistic, that you simply cannot play the game the same way you used to. Sit in practice mode, do freestyle practice to learn the dribbling and shooting controls, as once you put everything in motion you'll understand there's a dribble move and type of shot for every situation. Then work on your post game in post up practice mode, then run your teams plays by yourself, get comfortable with them, then add a CPU defense to the plays. Put all that together in a no pressure scrimmage, and then once you feel like you know your team, go back into association or quick game and see how you do.

In years past guys like Chris Paul would get killed in the paint and couldn't play like they did in real life, I just dropped 42 and 18 with him a couple nights ago because this game gives you the tools to succeed with any player. I played against the Cavs yesterday using the old school Lakers and only beat them by 14 points and they were hanging in there the whole game, so I would say any team is capable of competing. This is just the first 2k where you legitimately have to practice and get better before you can roll off a bunch of wins. Hope this helps bro.
