How do you play your 82 game association??

I have been playing 4gms, then simming the next 7gms. Total I'll play 33gms, which is like 40% of the games. Which imo is plenty to feel like I had some input in my season. Just curious to what everyone else does?? Maybe someone has a better idea...

I play all 82 games on 12 minute quarters. May seem boring but it feels realistic having to go through the grind of the whole season like they do in real life. Even though in this it isn't really as much of a grind as a pain in the butt, lol. Anyways, that's just what I do.

Every game the first month of the season.

Then I will play division rivals and marque matchups.

I usually end up playing between 45-50 games a season.

Of ocurse all my post season games are played by myself.

I simulate half my season and then try to play from the middle of the season on into contention.... im using the raptors so yeah lol

I usually just play random games here and there. I would say I probably play 30-40 games in a season. I just started my association in 2k11 and I'm 4-3 and have played 2 games so far vs. the Heat and Wizards (I wanted to play vs. Big 3 and then John Wall) and next up I'll be playing the Thunder (Durant and Westbrook).

All 30 teams, play all my teams games....allstar/12 min.....Adjust coaching sliders, rotations and roles for cpu teams.....Very fun and immersing franchise with teams playing realistically according to their personnel and coaching sliders....

12 mins quarters, PRO difficulty with custom sliders aimed at getting realistic gameplay/stats, 1 game a day, Yuta Tabuse in my 5 24/7.

It'll take me 3 months approx., it'll be one helluva journey!

Do you fellas set the simulated game times to match the quarter lengths that you play? I play 8 min quarters, don't have time for much longer, so the simulated CPU games KILL me statistically.

I was doing the same thing Dick, but just couldn't deal with the inconsistencies (cause stats are half the fun). So I just started a new Association with 12 minute quarters. Takes about an hour to play a game (shrug).

That limits me to never more than 2 games in a night, but I'm only playing a 29 game schedule, so I can live with that. So far, Tyreke Evans is second in the league in scoring behinds Steph Curry

Hmm so that only takes you about an hour huh? Maybe I'll give that a shot then. And 12 min is about equal to a CPU 15 min game?

Takes me bout an hour also to play a 12 min game....Little faster if u turn off cutscenes, replays and skip past any dead balls that it allows u too...

This is what I do as well..12min qtrs takes me about a hour to finish this way. I remember in 2k10, I couldn't even finish a single game cuz it just wasn't fun. This year, a hour goes by so fast with this game. Amazing the turnaround in 1 year!


To the guy that plays 29gm schedule(can't remmber who u are)...why not just play 82, and sim all but 29gms?? You can decide ahead of time which 29 u want to play as well pretty easy. I'm playing 4, then simming 7 and that will get me 33gms played that way. So maybe if u did, play 4 or 5 then sim 8 you'd be real close to 29?

Trinity that's a real good idea, and frankly - I wish I had thought of it before I started my season.

12 Minute quarters and I never EVER sim. Playing each and every game is fun to me and I want my teams statistics to be a direct result of me playing the games.

I play one sim 3. It equals about 20 games of the season, then if I make the playoffs I play them. Usually I run with the 76ers so I haven't been in the postseason the last few versions of 2k and you can't really make your team better by the draft because the guys come in rated too low, IMO. I do get through a bunch more seasons this way and part of the fun for me is seeing the team change and the offseason stuff.
