Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Exclusive Interview with Ed Martin
Good to hear they have been working on it for 18 months already. I'm glad they are not having the trucks and nationwide series to begin with. I would rather them have great handling cars and a career with some depth, then spend time trying to figure out how the truck should handle, etc. I can't wait for the second part of the interview to hear about the career mode. The career mode it going to be the game breaker for me. That's what I play in all my sports games.Comment

Loved the answer on presentation. "36 tracks with 36 different intros". At least it won't get old after two races!Comment

I was sold at the part where he said,
"I started with Papyrus in the early '90s, and ran the NASCAR franchise for Hasbro Sports (NASCAR Heat) and Electronic Arts (NASCAR series), so I have been around these games for a long time. "
Exxxxxxcelent! Not so much for the EA part but the fact he worked with Papy and on Heat.Comment

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Exclusive Interview with Ed Martin
I was a Papyrus tester right from the start with Indycar Racing 1 all the way to NR2003 so I have been around for awhile. Needless to say, EA screwed the pooch on Nascar chasing Papyrus out of Nascar just like they did 2K sports out of the NFL. I still play Nascar Racing 2003, but I remember a time where we had promises about EA's Nascar Sim Racing. Being away from EA is a good thing but I'm not holding out much hope of anything that will finally let me retire NR2003 from Papyrus. Good luck Ed! I'm pulling for you guys to pull this off because it has been a long dry spell since EA mucked things up.
Lucky you! Sounds like a great job!
NR2003 is the standard (gameplay-wise, not presentation, obviously) by which all Nascar games should be held to, IMO.
I tried the Sim Racing demo by EA, and it s*cked badly.Comment

Just think where Papyrus would be with the Nascar series now had EA kept its nose out of it.Comment

this. I agree. it would be cool if there was a career mode were you go through the different divisions in Nascar.Comment
