Out of the box, what you are going to get is the 2010 season.
Am I the only one that read this line? By what he is saying there may not even be a career mode. Well that's what I'm taking from it anyways. Yet, maybe someone else know's different. Admittedly, I haven't heard much about this game.

There is a career mode. In part 2 of the interview, I will break down the whole multiplayer, career mode, control schemes....and more!

He means that out of the box you will get the 2010 season in the sense of Paintschemes, what drivers are in what cars, etc.

I can't wait until part two. My whole deal is the career mode. I'm really just wanting to know about the career mode!

Well that's reassuring. As of yesterday Monster Jam 2011 was the only racing game on my radar, as of today NASCAR 2011 joined it.

That is not for everybody. Between pricing and lack of AI, it is really not for me. Apples and Oranges.

This is probably a dumb question but, this game has all the real drivers and cars right?

I assume that is what the Sprint Series is. Just a casual fan and didnt recognize the cars in the pics. With the exception of Jeff Gordons 24 car I think.

                Yes, for the most part:

EM: We do have the list complete, but we just have not released it. There will be 43 real drivers in the game, and almost all of them are Sprint Cup drivers. There are a few exceptions where we added a few non-Cup drivers. For example, we really wanted Danica Patrick in the game, although in 2010 she has only participated in the Nationwide Series, but we are going to portray her as a Sprint Cup driver. Every driver is a licensed driver, with a couple of the Nationwide drivers to fill out the field.

Will there be more then 43 drivers in the game? For instance, will some drivers have to qualify in order to make the 43 car field?

I wouldn't think so. Never been in past games before.....

From what I understand, they will only be a total of 43 drivers in the game. This is of course, subject to change as the release date approaches.

As far as mechanical failures, yep, those absolutely happen. It can happen in the AI car, and it can happen in a human car also if you turn that [option] on. By default we give you visual damage, but if you turn on full damage anything can happen, including mechanical failures. What’s very cool with our damage though -- and this is something that is completely new -- is that we have the most advanced damage model to ever don a racing game. Every time you bump into the wall or bump into a different car, your damage is literally based off of what just happened. There will be cracked fiberglass if you interact with another car and damaged pieces can fall off. If you run over a piece of sheet metal on the track and you have full damage on, you're going to cut a tire.
                        Sounds awesome.

My interest in this game is def. peaking...will be following it from now on and I'm sure it'll be a must buy for me by Feb.

Does anyone know if in career mode we will be able to drive as real drivers or will it have to be created drivers?

I have a few questions, that maybe the OP can ask the devs.

                              1. Are there more then 23 tracks that you can race on, in non-career races. Such as, historic tracks no longer used by Sprint Cup, or used exclusively by the Nationwide serries, ex. Smoky Mountain Raceway, Old Dominion Speedway, Rockingham,Huntsville Speedway, Bowman-Gray Stadium, Toronto, Mexico City, ect. As well as perhaps a few fantasy tracks?

                              2. Will there be more then 43 drivers in the games database? For instance, will some drivers have to qualify on time, thus risking not qualifieing at all. It would get pretty boring with the same 43 every week.

                              3. How many seasons will career mode last?

                              4. Do some drivers retire, in career mode?If so, do they get replaced by rookies?

                              5. Do drivers have viewable -- real life, and in-season -- career stats?

                              6. Are there viewable driver ratings and atributes, so you can distinguish the great drivers from the not-so-great?

That's all I have for now.

At the risk of violating anti-stalking legislation, is there an ETA for part 2?
