How to stop the CPU while they run with head down?
Does anybody else notice this? When the CPU runs the ball with the HB, he puts his head down and seems like gets a speed boost. This makes me angry because it's nearly impossible to stop them.

After watching again, it's not really the head -- but their left shoulder that drops down and the speed boost occurs. Still, anybody have this happen to them? I can't be the only one.Chicago Cubs - Chicago Bears - Milwaukee Bucks

That's how u run now... Push the right stick fwd while running and in certain situations it does give u a speed boost and makes u more agile and also is how u truck and fall fwd when tackling! Its just how it is now! At least ur not running standing str8 up at all times now... If u don't use this while running the ball then I suggest u hop up in some practice mode and get to know this control!Comment

Re: How to stop the CPU while they run with head down?
i know, i hate when cpu does this. i understand that it does make running better because it allows u to squeeze thru tight spaces...but cpu does it with such good precision and timing that it almost isnt fair because as human players, we cant do it with that same precision. and because cpu does it like this...it makes it extremely hard to tackle them, and when u do, they usually easily slip out of the tackle...

Re: How to stop the CPU while they run with head down?
I do this on every run actually and so can you. There are 2 ways to do this.
1st way is to not control your RB when the QB hands the ball off. Let the RB pick his hole and if he needs to drop the shoulders he will.
The 2nd way is to do it in open field when you see someone coming towards you. Press up on the right stick and the RB will drop his shoulders all the time. RBs with a high break tackle and strength will do it more than RBs that don't. Hope this helps you guys out.Visit and register on our website. We are a multi platform gaming Clan, CAG Clan . Re: How to stop the CPU while they run with head down?
Stopping the run... In my 2nd year Seahawks franchise, I released Mebane (never re-signs for anything less than silly money) and moved Red Bryant to DT. So now I have 2 DTs with high blockshedding skills that weigh 330 lbs each.
I've also stuck with 4-3 defense for all plays where there are 2 WRs. I always pinch my D-line if I think it's a run; given my DEs also have mid-80s block shedding I find I can put up a wall that seldom breaks. And the AI can't put their head down and run because there simply aren't any gaps big enough. But if I don't pinch I get into trouble.
Means the AI pitches and runs to the outside more but I find these result in less gains on average than if the runner comes up the middle.Comment

Re: How to stop the CPU while they run with head down?
Try to Strafe into the hole so your defender has a bit more lateral control instead of running dead into the hole. The player with his head down still has great agility (which he shouldn't) so he cant maneuver around a straight attempt at a tackle. If you strafe, you can react better to the ball carrier's motion. You should also strafe in for open field tackles or containing the ball carrier til help arrives.Comment

yeah, too bad the tackle button dosent work, i press square and its a missed tackle everytime, i try to just run into the ai ballcarrier and he blows right by, and yes i was strafing!!! so lately i have just been using the defensive assist button to tackle the ai in the open field, dont use defensive assist on a human though, its just a bad idea lol. oh and u dont like the ai dropping the shoulder on madden speed burst thing? well its 10x worse on ncaa! but u can use the defensive assist "feature" it will help alotPSN-FORDTUFF504
