Question about rules for Lineups in leagues

Hey just a quick question about rosters. I am playing as Newcastle in the Premier League. I wanted to add a few USA guys to my lineup including Donovan, Demp, Bradley, Jones etc.

Is there any rules about lineups concerning not enough players from that country starting? I didnt know if the 6+5 rule was in affect with this game. I just dont want to purchase all these guys and find out that I cannot start them at the same time.

    Thanks

You'll be fine. The squad rules such as that are not included in the game.

...I know you just said it's not in the game, but can someone explain what exactly the rule is?

I haven't been watching soccer for that long (couple years...started watching before the World Cup hype), but I've enjoyed playing soccer games for quite some time now.

I've never heard of this rule though. And I'm just interested in learning...

Re: Question about rules for Lineups in leagues

As of the 2010–11 season, the Premier League introduced new rules mandating that each club must register a maximum 25-man squad of players aged over 21, with the squad list only allowed to be changed in transfer windows or in exceptional circumstances.

This was to enable the 'home grown' rule to be enacted, whereby the League would also from 2010 require at least 8 of the named 25 man squad to be made up of 'home-grown players', defined as a player who: irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Welsh Football Association for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).
