Tried playing on zoom camera angle.
Let me start out by explaining that when I play on Defense, I use the no switch rule. Whatever Defensive position I choose at the beginning of the play, is what I stick with throughout that play. On Offense I would assume I play like most everyone else. I found a set of sliders to use, and decided to give playing with a zoomed camera a shot. I was quite pleased with what I experienced. Passing the ball was a little more of a challenge than having the complete field in view however, it wasn't as awkward as I first thought it would be. My passing stats were 21 for 32 for 249 yds, 1 TD, and 1 Int. Running was even more realistic. Take the handoff, and hit the hole or get behind a blocker, and it feels like your down on the field. I wasnt able to see the LB or DL coming to make the tackle from behind ( reality ). On Defense the zoomed camera is no problem because i know what my assignment is, and I deal with that. And if my assignment is pass defense, and it turns out to be a run, no problem, I can see the run play without a hitch. Watching the tackling to me was also better. Its worth a shot trying it just once.Tags: None -
Re: Tried playing on zoom camera angle.
Hmmm, I've never even messed with the camera options in Madden. Might have to give this a shot.
Nice to see some more fellow no-switch players out there. I love controlling a defensive lineman, have the run go away from me, and still stick with the play and run him down to make the tackle. Much more satisfying to me than just switching to the nearest dude.Ryan Spencer

Hold the Left trigger, and then use the left stick to pan side to side (PS3). This will show you the DB's.Comment

Re: Tried playing on zoom camera angle.
I love the Zoom cam, improves the game greatly...now if they only had the NCAA thing where you can left click on your player on D and play from their point of view...This and the ability to watch plays in SuperSim, and the fantastic 'Broadcast Cam' in saving replays make NCAA the winner...along with uh, a few other thingsComment

Re: Tried playing on zoom camera angle.
They actually had said before release that when on Defense you would see the field from the defensive side of the ball, instead of controlling say a LB and still having the camera on the offensive side of the ball.
This is only in Superstar mode as far as I know. Haven't seen it in any other mode.
I like the Zoomed in angle though. You can see what your doing a lot better, find the holes better as a RB, makes throwing challenging. Good stuff.Comment

Re: Tried playing on zoom camera angle.
I have used ZOOM CAM for Madden 2010 & 2011. 20011's ZOOM CAM is nearly perfect(slight angle with slight height might be nice).
Maddens standard cam seams to get farther every year. I dont like the standard cam at all. I wouldnt buy Madden if it didnt have the zoom cam, I'm just waiting for the custom cam option of 2k5.
You can see the flats with the ZOOM CAM, theres no need to zoom out more then that cam. I don't want to see the top tier seating on each side of me like the standard cam shows. Its really rediculous. Some ZOOM CAM angle options would be sweetLast edited by wheelman990; 10-28-2010, 10:41 PM.Comment

Re: Tried playing on zoom camera angle.
I believe it definitely improves the overall game itself, and it makes gameplay more realistic. You get a nice view of the field, but not an entire view. When a QB pans left, he's normally not able to see everything on his immediate right, unless he starts to pan back towards his right. I liken it to playing a war game. It's much more realistic when you have Fog of War in the game.Comment

Re: Tried playing on zoom camera angle.
Funny how the camera angle can give you a whole new outlook on the game. I didn't play on ZOOM like you guys. But I tried Broadcast for the first time today.
Yeah, its hard to get used to. But I got the hang of it. And its really cool playing Madden at an angle that's like TV is pretty cool.
I ended up playing four straight games. Renewed excitement. The Lord is my shepard.Comment

Re: Tried playing on zoom camera angle.
Hmm, never thought of trying the zoom cam to offer up a challenge.
I will later tonight, its worth a shot, I just plain never thought of using anything besides the standard setting for the cam.
Which is weird, since Im all about accurate custom rosters, and custom sliders. (I use PlayMakers.)
BTW, I too use the "no switch rule." When Im on defense I choose who I want to control that play and stick with it. Even if the "action" ends up being opposite my player.Comment

Re: Tried playing on zoom camera angle.
Has anyone seen a video of the Madden 12 zoom camera gameplay? I saw a video that showed that it was in the settings, but not one single video of someone using it. Curious how this looks with the bumped graphics this year, and what changes to zoom level, and tilt level they made.Comment

For what ever reason, people never use it. I remember seeing next to no Zoom Cam vids for Madden 10 or 11 either."You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."Comment
