We knew it would happen one day...

Playoffs in the EASHL last night. Our team was ready to go for a game or two. We we're matched up against a 5 human team just like us. Pretty even game, it was 0-0 after 3 periods.

We went to 3 overtime, and we we're dominating, outshooting them 27-17 and doubling on the TOA.

Until, late in the 3 OT, our RW tried to shot the puck down the ice on a PK, and the stick broke in half. Puck when straight to our LD skates, bounce off it, and one of their guy picked up, went on a short breakaway and scored.

No need to say the words that came out of everyone's mouth after that. I know breaking stick is part of the game, it's a cool new feature and it's realistic, but when you lose a playoff game because of it, it's really frustrating.

I don't wish anyone playing NHL 11 online experience this, because it's really bad to lose a game that way!

I see it as a good thing. I mean, you lost and I understand how much that must have sucked, but it was realistic. That can happen in real life. Tough way to lose one, but I think after the emotions settle you'll understand and apprecicate the realism.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I ain't mad at EA and won't say it's bad, and yada yada yada.

Broken stick is part of the game and I fully understand that it could happened to anyone. It's frustrating, but that happen, and I won't lose sleep over it! :-)

That game is really fun, and at least, I'm less irritated by a misfortune like this than seeing a guy doing a peek-a-boo shot and winning the game.

No one exploited the game here, we just been hit by bad luck! ;-)

Same exact thing happened to Nick Lidstrom against San Jose in the playoffs last year.
Keanu Reeves: I shall take Balloons for $800, if you please.

Alex Trebek: That's not a category.

Keanu Reeves: My mistake. I shall choose Balloons for $600.

Man FB....that's is a tough way to lose.

But like others have said, and sounds like you agree, that the harsh realism of that moment was pretty realistic, and at least memorable.

Yeah I bet you'll remember that for a while and at least it was realistic and not some softy that the goalie should have stopped or something.

Wonder if anyone has had their d fall down while skating leading to a breakaway and the playoff loss yet, that would suck too.
