Ive heard it is cause of the patch, which doesn't make much sense since the patch only patched online. Maybe the online nba today is broken leaving association mode and the association nba today overlaps and destroys quick nba today and it freezes due to error.

Who quality checks these things? How did foul outs not working, for example, make it to release? How does a patch freeze the game?

              Same thing happened to me.

Delete your roster file, that's all it is.

Which roster file do you delete? The Living Roster?

For what it's worth, after using my harddrive on someone else's 360 Sunday (connected to the internet) then tried to use my harddrive on my own 360 on Monday (no internet connection) it froze at the startup screen. However, after deleting my Living Roster, it loaded just fine.

Yea...this just started happening to me today, and it would occur when leaving the association mode to go back to the main menus. The game would freeze up as soon as it went to load a roster. Was thinking I would delete the living roster too to alleviate this issue, haven't done so yet but will do it next time I get back on.
