They will work for you. Some users set up gameplans for all 32 teams so they played like their real life counterparts. Then the patch dropped, and the teams went back to default gameplans, and after resetting them, they didn't stick, hence why it's "broken".

If you don't care to set gameplans for CPU teams, no worries. If you do, follow the link posted above. There is a workaround, but I can understand the frustration of doing all that work for nothing.
