I wrote this some where else .. thought I'd share:

Ill give 2k props for trying to make this game real for those who want to play it maturely. The unfortunate side effect though, side effect is that it can be extremely unreal for those who want to abuse it. I'll take that any day.
These kids will spend hours trying to figure out ways to beat the program. Something like pick Miami --- put Help Defense all the way up. Play 2-3. Or sometimes guard the player who shoots 3's and cherry pick on the miss for the perfect pass alll game (insert yours of their specific variation) .. Do this enough? Do this smoothly? ... you got at least a 70% win online ranked games - EASY. When you master it .. 80% - 90%.
You'll always find a dedicated sim samurai that will use basketball logic and enough counter video game-cheese to put you in your place. I know .. cause I've recently hung up my sword.
But I once heard in some movie .. can;t recall it now - "its a waste to be so talented at something the world cares little to nothing about"
Ok - I'm a super cheese stopper ...!!! lol. Wooow - you've found out how to make a bunch of really smart 16-19 yrs olds .. or cowardly/weak minded 27-30 yr olds frustrated enough to quit a video game .. "give yourself a raise !!!"
Nah - let me stop -- I used to be one of those cats. I don't get high from it anymore though ...cause who gives a **** really? Nobody ever sees a cheeser .. nobody ever sees a cheese stopper.
Cause when two men who respect each other play .. they'll play as fair as they can w/o appearing to cheese. Or spend more time arguing about the concept of cheese than they do playing the actual game. I've had my share of those convos as well. As well as the internet connection convo ... lol. The purposeful lag convo .. lol. I digress.
Or two little kids might say bump it and go at in their house or online .. cheese express - Miami vs. Miami. It actually makes me smile thinking about this cause its essentially 2 kids playing superman vs. batman on a basketball court . Can't be mad at that. Enjoy your game boy .. "F" an 13 flash .. 12 rub pick, roll or a damn screen ?
Like my 2 year old says ... THROW IT !!!!!!!
Can't be mad though .. at least until one of them catches your sim *** in a ranked match. Oh and don't let it be the 18 or 19 year old one. You might beat the 16 yr old with some smart play .. but that 19 year old .. have you writing video game blogs while the game is shut down. Saying stuff like .. I'm too old for this man. lol.

If you've played 2k long enough .. you'll know that's where those errant fly-ball passes that killed the fast break in 2k9-2k10 came from. That was the work around to this "sim"

Only reason players don't do this in real life is that it's against the spirit of the game - its not how the game should be played. Granted most defenses would get killed if they used only four men against 5 .. be real to yourself and admit that some could use this as a viable strategy and it would be perfectly economical. The Heat or Lakers for example .. Lebron, Kobe, Ron Artest, Wade .. could each take turns leading the scramble 4 man defense while the other person had pina coladas under the rim and waited for the cherry pass. But then the offense would probably keep a man back too .. then pretty soon basketball would probably curtail Magic Johnson (ie: the fast-break) and have something similar to football's (soccer) off-sides ....
I know for sure tho LA and Mia could do that and be ok .. maybe even more teams.
But that's not what people paid for. They paid to see gladiators got at it. Not cheese.
And that's what keeps to irl integrity of the game in tact. ... And even then ...there are still issues w hack-a-shaq type cheese (Another topic for another day)
- See general public response to hack a Shaq. Props to Shaq for being so good that he had real people considering video game cheese scams.
That's not what people pay for though .. so you'll rarely see those blatant abuses of the sport.
Now, take away the 30 plus million who pay in some way to watch Lebron and co. play .. reduce it to only 2 people in front of tv screens ... worlds apart ...
One or both with a fear of losing, a general lack of sportsmanship, and a poor appreciation or understanding of both irl basketball and 2k basketball ... or just some kids who feel like goofing around ...
You'll have Wade chillin under that rim allll day. 2k gave us the benefit of the doubt for sim on this one. I can dig it. I say keep it like that.

Only thing I'd suggest is including hof ranked games .. but I'm sure the kids/ants would find a work around for that too ... lol. Maybe tweak those perfect out of shot passes -
add in a walking animation ... and whatever other suggestions you see fit n I'm good.
And I'm laughing as I type this .. not one of those heated people.
Its just a game after all.
Just felt like typing today .. recently moved to a new state.
Ranked games are like sleeping w very random people and expecting not to get burnt .. lmao. Now that's a real life sim for that @@@ .. .lol.
But long story short ...
Enjoy the game -- play it the right way .. play it competitively your friends and it's a beautiful game. Don't expect these "smart" 16 yr olds (I use that term loosely) .. or 28 yr old bums to share your Phil Jackson or Kobe hoop dreams .. they wont. Don't go play w kids and expect not to get paint on your shirt .. Let's stop taking ourselves so serious.
16-19 year olds, ..ignore this and continue to furiously seek solutions and work arounds to "cheese'. Patches for ranked games etc. (GI Joe). Or continue killing them online w Miami and build that record to 300-5 (Cobra) -
The "great cheese-stopper" is probably more of a loser than the great cheeser .. at least imo. Unless they are the same age .. which then is really cool. Kinda like GI Joe and Cobra going at it ... remember blue light .. red light gun fires?
I used to be a 2k GI JOE ... I was like 26 though -- senior GI Joe. Lol.
I think like 2k7 or 2k8 .. I made it to number 4 in ranked matches .. 500 and something games .. .lmao. That I lost only about 20 of. All sim on my part tho .. (by sim I mean , I didn't play full court D allllll game, didn't double team every player all game.. did cherry pick all game .. the rest of that sim stuff is very subjective so ... yeah - made it to number 4. All sim. Who cares though ...my point exactly.
But at 29 .. It's about time to hang it up man. I'ma beat up on my boys for a little while. Maybe whop up on a good league. And every now and then .. .Ima get my Mr. Incredible suit on and really put it on some of these 16 year old colada sippers ....
For now I just play casually .. I'm still like 40-20 w/o really trying
I try to play w every team alphabetically starting w the Celtics and down the 76ers. If I lose 2 times in a row with a given team .. I move on to the next. If a team has the misfortune of meeting two Miami 16 yr olds in the process .. sucks to be you. 2 losses and bump to the next. That's my new adult toy for 2k ranked games. Some teams I like tho. So I make a stronger stance with them. And the cheesers get a glimpse of the old me. Others .. meh. Good win kid. Enjoy your however you want. You paid your $60 just like I paid mine.
Nothing special to say .. just brain farts here ...
Now if I can only figure out how to start this league thing ...
every-time I try to open one .. it says league name not avail. or some error message ..

I just saw 4-5 kids do the Miami thing .. and I'm sure I can stop it .. but it's not that serious .. I'm 29 man - aint about crack my head figuring that mess out and chase these rugrats around .. just so they can quit if they lose.
Become .. Super cheese stopper !!! - Then you've become a cheese master yourself. Lol. And don't tell me smart basketball will beat them because there are just some programming bits that make the game that way. Like you having to control the players on offense .. (for the most part - unless you plan on using off ball offense and keeping one man back w Wade ) .. too much tho.
Promise you I can beat tho .. If I really wanted to .. 2-3 yrs ago I did.

I played a few games .. casually stopped some .. others got their wins.
But I'ma stick to hof lobbies and leagues from now on ...
