Taking a charge?

So the only time I ever see a charge called in this game, is when you have a big guy backing down a smaller defender, and the defender falls down (which shouldn't be a charge). All other realistic charges are either no calls or blocking fouls (and i have charging set to 100). Is it like this for everyone else?

Yes, it is a known bug. Hopefully the patch addresses it.

Yea hopefully the patch fixes it cause I've had so many points scored where there should have been a charge.

Ive gotten 3 charges so far. I remember in 2k10 i got like 80 charges at this point. That was too much because they called charges when players werent in position. Maybe if they changed ref "ai" they would call charges properly.

It more than likely isn't the ref AI probably just a straight glitch w/ the mechanics. If you notice even if someone comes at you full speed and makes contact while you're in the "take a charge" stance they will bump you and you will get pushed back.

For some odd reason I got 2 charges against the AI last night in a game. I do hope 2k is going to fix this in the patch because it as well as fouls on mid and long range jumpers are non exsistent.

A trick I use is to hold the left trigger and as the ball handler is trying to go around you, hit B. Works about 95% of the time for me. Just holding B always results in a blocking call.

ive yet to see an offensive foul and ive played about 50 games or so total

A trick I use is to hold the left trigger and as the ball handler is trying to go around you, hit B. Works about 95% of the time for me. Just holding B always results in a blocking call.

This is what I've been doing. As long as you were in position first and get the right contact animation from the other guy trying to drive around you, holding left trigger and then holding B will more often than not draw the charge.

I will have to try this, maybe that is the key for me to draw charges. Still the computer wont get any charges against me thou. The only way I see the computer draw charges in when I do a hop step.

Yea that works....Thats the only one I need. I hate the other charges from last year. Maybe some tweaking around the basket in the paint. But besides that... I hope they leave everything as is....

Haven't seen a single charge on the PS3 yet in my association (and I do run Raja Bell ;-)).

So on the PS3 that would be L2 + Circle? Have to try that...
