I have to admit I am impressed. I posted here weeks ago that I emailed EA about the jersey code. They replied. I guess they also respond to you when more info becomes available on the topic?

I got an email thursday saying it was in regards to my previous email inquiry about the nhl 11 jersey code. They said that two teams have yet to officially unveil their new alternate uniforms and that the code will be released the week after the final team wears them on the ice.

I have tried searching for this and I believe the Ducks wear theirs on the 24th. The Rangers unvelied theirs yesterday at a media event and will wear theirs tomorrow (14th) so I am guessing between the 28th- Dec 4th we will get it.

UPDATE: the rangers did not wear their new 3rd jerseys today as they were supposed to. The announcer mentioned in pre game that due to circumstance beyond their control the jerseys, set to debut today, will be worn at a game TBD and a friend of mine at the game text me that the scoreboard also had an announcement about the delayed jersey debut- it will now be Wednesday, the 17th at MSG vs. the Bruins. - (very weird IMO)

Is there any operation in the world with a worse marketing department than the NHL?

New jerseys are usually a license to print money so why would you hold these back from customers when the season is already a month and a half old?

nba does it too though. nba live 10 had jersey codes that didnt come out until the jerseys were released throughout the season.

Thanks for sharing. I almost forgot about the jersey code. I feel bad for Sabres fans who have to put up with the ghost of the buffaslug.

It's weird you mention this.
I read weeks ago that the 3rd jersey would be revealed in a game vs. the Boston Ruins. When I heard last week that it would be this past Sunday vs. Dedmonton I was puzzled.
There was an unveiling of the jersey at the local rink here Saturday afternoon but I didn't get a chance to go. That's probably the reason for the delay. The jerseys are too busy making appearances everywhere but MSG.

yeah they unveiled them friday night at a park in the city and advertised sundays game as the first time they would be worn. my friends ticket stub for the oilers game also advertised the jerseys debut.

It sounds like the Sabers have done away with the "Buffaslug" logo?

If true...I'm glad. I've always liked the Sabers classic logo design and unies. I remember when the Isles changed to the "Fishermen" logo for that short time. I remember it being reported that the season ticket sales fell quite a bit in protest of that design. Thankfully so. It bugs the heck outta me when classic logos are messed with.

It is definitely not gone, and Larry Quinn (Sabres managing partner) has said as much. Thankfully the old school jerseys are back, though.

No. There is no patch for jeseys, they can't be patched in. It's a code that unlocks the jerseys that are already in the game.

Columbus and Anaheim are the last two teams to wear their new alternate jerseys. Columbus actually unveiled theirs yesterday (you can see it on their website), the Ducks has leaked and looks pretty nice (check icethetics.com or puckdaddy for the leak).

Both teams will wear them in their home games on Friday night. So as of tomorrow, all the third/alternate jerseys will have been worn. Good timing to release them on Black Friday, wouldn't you say?
