Quick advice, dont tap real fast to start the battle. Tap just enough to keep the battle going, the cpu will gas pretty quickly. Thats when you tap faster to lock in but dont button mash to lock in either.
Yeah, I'll mess around with it. Thanks. I've been using my career fighter in play now mode, so that may be my issue...

I don't seem to be gassing, I keep the battle going and eventually it ends with me still having stamina.

Very worth it. If you have the time, read through all the pages of this thread. There are some issues, but nothing like UFC and the gameplay is very good.

I'm doing fine with limb ones on hard...chokes aren't really possible anymore, but I can get a win with the limbs, just have to go slow to start like you say...I think I was tapping too much to start...It seems easier in career vs. when I was trying in play now, I'll have to try it again on play now later against Diaz (faced him in career and it was a easy sub)

Chokes are still crazy, it's like it's impossible on higher levels for sure.

Clueless on chokes and considering i don't have a rumble controller...yea it sucks.
I do wish there were more moves to be learned.

Half way through career and i am clueless on how to play the game really.

I get caught in the clinch and taken down at will. Wrestlers take me down at will. My LHW fight vs Randlemen, taken down 24 times.....all he would do is take me down, let me up, id throw a punch, he would clinch...rinse repeat.

No idea what I am doing on choke submissions. I just sit there and spin the L stick. ( non rumble controller ). Had one guy (the ai ) chain what seemed like 5 or 6 subs on me.

The slipping parrying counter system...chinese to me lol. I don't know if it is my controllers but the response time on it seems rather slow. I would dip back on the controller, my guy gets hit, then he dips back in game.

I like the set up of the game and such. Load times are horrid. Seriously they are bad.
Tutorial could go alot more indepth when starting career out though, I still don't know all the controls.

Severe lack of moves in the game also. That is an area that really needs to be expanded on.

You need to go through the pre game tutorial. Mma 101 I believe and maybe give the actual paper tutorial a glance. Their really isn't a lack of moves.

I just think there should be a wider range of moves you are able to learn. Mainly different style kicks, punches, takedowns

I was wondering if anyone can tell if you choose in career mode to go to strikeforce do you fight real fighters or do they continue to just be generics?

You're not seeing any of them because you're not stopping their clinch or takedown attempts...block some of those and then they have to try something else. You'll probably have a bit more time standing up.

If you get taken down with ease then obviously a fighter is gonna keep doing that. You keep doing what's working for you...so stop what they're doing and you can force them into your game.

I just got the game. I am having a blast with this. My career fighter is 6-0 with 6 subs. Something that would'nt happen in the other game.

I just have one question for you guys who have been playing for a while: How do you do knees from the MT clinch?

It's on sale for $30 or $40 somewhere. Think it was Best Buy. Saw it on AOTS,they were going over the various sales. The guy (wasn't Kevin, the other one) must really like the game because he sounded disapointed it didn't sell well and told people to go buy it.

Re: EA Sports MMA Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

This game just suffered from a bad release date timing and a bad demo. It's a shame really because some things they really did right, like leg kicks actually matter.

However they did mess up with a lack of positions and moves that are discipline specific, like the following:

                                Can't knee from side control
Can't throw elbows from side control
                                No single collar tie
                                No muay thai whip control
No submissions from half guard, neither from the top or bottom
                                No butterfly sweeps
No cage interaction for the most part
                                No north south position

I would have liked them to have had the following:

Wrestlers having more different kinds of take downs, like belly to belly suplexes, variations of single leg and double leg takedowns, wizards, single collar tie for dirty boxing.

Judo - having their own takedowns, sweeps from the bottom, submission holds

Sambo - having their own leg lock submission moves and leg trips

BJJ - more use of the rubber guard and rubber guard specific moves, kimirua sweeps, standing kimuras, submissions from every position whether on top or bottom

Kickboxing - more head kicks and body kicks

Muay Thai - more leg kicks and elbow strikes combos. Muay thai whip. A much stronger plum hold.

                                OVERALL:

More visible body and facial damage is MUCH needed. I want to see swollen eyes and if you get a swollen eye, your ability to block stuff from that side of your face should be reduced by 80%. Kind of like how they had it in Fight Night 4. Same thing with body shots.

Body shots should cause more permanent damage to your stamina and movement. I remember in Fight Night 4, if you constantly worked the body, that person moved SLOW and was gasping for air for the rest of the fight.

That reversal from side control that flips the person on top of you completely over putting you into side control needs to be eliminated, that is so unrealistic. Nobody is that damn strong that they can flip somebody over from side control off their back like that.

More big slams. And slams over all should cause more temporary lost to your stamina. I mean if you get slammed hard in real life, you will be gasping for air for a good minute or two. So therefore in the game if you suffer a big slam, half of your stamina should be gone for 30 seconds at least.

Nothing worse then doing a throw and see the cpu still have full stamina, blocking everything you do IMMEDIATELY after being slammed.

Also some slams, like reversal unexpected type of slams and takedowns should stun your opponent. Since in real life, the move you didn't see coming does the most damage to you.

Fighters in this game need more weight to them as well. No way should a guy weighing less then me by a good amount or a guy with a smaller frame should be pushing a much bigger guy off of them or pushing them around the ring with ease.

I was that greek guy Zrappolous or whatever his name is against Aoki. Aoki has a much smaller frame, but yet was tossing me around like I was a tooth pick. Even held me down with ease and when I got on top of him, he pushed me off with ease.

So more realistic weight and movement you can do based off your weight, body frame needs to be added. Kind of like you know when Couture fought Brock or Tim Slyvia. Randy was the smaller fighter and just couldn't lift those guys up with ease and toss them ya know.

He had to drag them to the ground, time his shots to catch them off balance with a single leg or leg trip. But no way did he push those guys off of him with ease when he was on the bottom that is for sure.

                                OTHER THAN THOSE THINGS:

This is one hell of a game.
