Want to hear something that will mess with your head? We all should have seen David Gordon Green's Your Highness by now. Before being moved back to April 2011, the medieval comedy starring James Franco, Danny McBride, Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel was scheduled to arrive in theaters back in October. Instead we are only now enjoying our first look at the film.
IGN has posted the red band trailer for Your Highness, Green's follow up to 2008's Pineapple Express. In the film, Fabious and Thadeous (Franco and McBride) are forced to make an **** quest after Franco's fiancee is kidnapped by an evil wizard (Justin Theroux). Teaming up with them is Isabel, a warrior played by Natalie Portman, who has plans of her own. Together the three must battle and kill a series of mystical creatures so that Fabious can be reunited with the woman he loves.
Yes, much of the humor is blue and reliant on gags, but I personally can't get enough of this trailer. Everything from the ridiculous British accents to the Dropkick Murphys soundtrack just clicks and it feels as though the movie doesn't take itself seriously in the slightest. If I have to have one complaint it would be the venom sucking scene. which I feel as though has been done plenty of times before, but then I watch the trailer again and see Natalie Portman in a thong and I just don't care.
