These guys want to go early for the NFL?

I just finished up a season and lost two guys to the pros. Can anyone tell me how this could happen? I couldn't imagine this happening in real life.

Tyson Campbell 6'0" 189 lbs WR Junior (RS)

    24 receptions
    448 yards
    6 TD's

Obadiah Stewart 6'2" 259 lbs LE Junior (RS)

    9 tackles
    3 sacks
    1 interception

Not what you would call stellar junior years yet they went pro???

I guess it would be similar to where some college players come out early due to the home life. I doubt the game got that in-depth...but it does do somethings that defy logic.

To the OP. What did your incoming freshman look like? I had a true soph DE who wanted to xfer the season after getting double digit sacks. I was shocked and confused. So I talked him into staying. Lo and behold I saw why. I brought in a Freshman DE who instantly became the starter bumping that guy to the 2nd team. So, maybe it was something like that.

Things like that happen to me sometimes too. I think it's just one of those things that EA put in the game to give it a better sense of realism. Every year in the NCAA, there are dozens of players that leave college early and get drafted late or go undrafted.

Not terrible stats at all for a run heavy offense with more than 1 good receiver. If a player is sweet, who cares how if he was injured during the season, or sat some snaps.

Is say its probably based off overall rating instead of stats. Tannehill was like that for me but talked him into staying for his senior year.

In real life Rob Gronkowski left Arizona for the NFL draft after not even playing for a year due to injury.

i hate when that **** happens. i hate more so when a player who is low rated...like in the 70s, but had a great season and declares for the draft. This happens IRL, but in the game since the player is rated in the 70s, he doesnt make the draft...thus ending his career

prolly the reason why my wildcats suck so much in the red zone this year

I could see both scenarios happening IRL. If Defensive lineman is part of a deep rotation, he might not see the playing time to put up great numbers, but an NFL scout might see the raw physical skills needed to excel at the pro level. And the same is true for a WR, especially if your offensive scheme is run heavy or some version of the option (flexbone, spread). He might get limited opportunities, but he might be a stud physically who just doesn't get playing time on your team. Going in the 3rd to fifth rounds is enticing to a player, especially if they are not going to start their last year. Why not get paid to sit the bench at the pro level. In my Nevada dynasty, my backup runningback wanted to leave after his junior, he was only an 85 but had really good acceleration that was pro worthy. Needless to say, he stayed, but the point is if your player has great speed, accel, etc. even if he doesn't start or put up amazing numbers, he might test the waters because the physical tools needed to play in the NFL are there.

I had a kicker leave to go pro early....

There are a lot of factors in play here. From what I can tell, rating only matters in that there is a minimum rating a player must have to leave early. Then it looks at awards, stats, year and player position (WR are most likely to leave early, QBs and Kickers least).
