So I read you have to unlock mechanical and damage modeling through the career. SMH

These are the type of things I don't understand. Horrible Idea. Also weather is track related. You don't have the option to use in any track. The non premium cars look pretty bad compared to the premiums ones. This is my experience so far.

Meh, I imagine it won't take long.

Not from what I'm reading on GT Planet. Some have played for days now, and are between level 10-20 and haven't unlocked all the damage settings. It's stupid that you can't start the game with tire wear, damage modeling, and mechanical damage, but instead have to play hours and hours to unlock.

Maybe we can have the privilege of paying for dlc to unlock the damage...lol
