Fumbling while diving down...
This one HAS to be fixed. There seems there is no safe way to simply go down without having a chance to fumble. For instance on an interception, end of the game run etc you should be able to just go down on your own without having any chance to fumble. As it is now if you dive down (even with no contact whatsoever) you might fumble the ball. This almost cost me a game and it is completely ridiculous.Last edited by Bullet Sponge; 11-26-2010, 12:59 AM.Tags: None -
Re: Fumbling while diving down...
i agree with you man, this sucks. Every time I try to dive for the first down or end zone, my guy always ends up fumbling. -
Re: Fumbling while diving down...
It is realistic but it needs to be toned way down. I wish it was easier to just simply slide. That is something I have never been able to do.Comment

Re: Fumbling while diving down...
Ya, however, in the college game you are down as soon as a knee, elbow, hip, etc hits the ground. Eli was never touched down, so the ground was allowed to cause the fumble.
As to the original topic, I would agree with the OP. In one of my recent games, I dove with my QB toward the goal line after scrambling out of the pocket. My QB fumbled 1 INCH from the goal line WITHOUT ever being touched by anyone. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me...BTFU!Comment

Re: Fumbling while diving down...
What they should do is make it so that if you hold down the protect ball button and then press dive your player will go straight to the ground to avoid fumbling (or slide in the case of a QB). This would give you the option of either pressing dive like normal to stretch the ball out for more yards, or pressing protect ball and dive in conjunction to cover the ball and go immediately to the ground. There's nothing more aggravating than making a 10 yard scramble with my pocket QB only to have him lay out and fumble the ball when I was just trying to slide to the ground.Comment

Re: Fumbling while diving down...
The problem is, guys are fumbling when diving WITHOUT ever being touched. If an animation occurred where the defender hit my diving player causing him to fumble, I'd have no problem. But the frequency of diving players dropping/fumbling the ball WITHOUT being touched is too high, the point I think the OP was trying to make.BTFU!Comment

And for everyone who thinks they should simply "scale it down" I disagree. Eliminate the fumble chance if you're untouched and dive down period or you leave the door open for you to get screwed over by the CPU. I have never seen a college player go down intentionally without being touched and cough up the ball ever.Comment

It also seems like it would be easy to do when you have a split second to decide if you should dive or try to go for an extra yard as you would probably already be protecting the ball at that point.Last edited by voodoo_magic; 11-26-2010, 09:43 PM.Comment

Re: Fumbling while diving down...
This is ridiculous I agree. One time on a kick return for a would-be TD, I dived into the end zone, however my kick returner fumbled the ball and it went out of bounds, instead of a TD, CPU's ball at the 20. They later went on to score the winning TD with 16 seconds left, their 67 OVR receiver broke 3 tackles and juked out 2 safeties after having the ball morph thru my DB's hands to score a TD, that was it for Heisman difficulty!NBA-Boston Celtics
