    The KOBE Challenge

I was bored at work today and decided to compile Kobe's 10 best performances and see what a "Kobe Challenge" in a future game might look like. What do you guys think? More difficult than Jordan's? Might be fun to try some of these in this year's game.

    Air Apparent
A 19-year old Kobe goes one-on-one with Jordan at the United Center and lets the G.O.A.T know he's here to stay.

When: December 17, 1997, regular season game vs. Chicago
    Goal 1: Score 33+ points
Goal 2: Shoot 60%+ from the field.

    New Kings
Kobe and the Lakers thrash their rival Kings to complete a sweep in the Western Conference semifinals.

When: May 13, 2001. Game 4, Western Conference semifinals vs. Kings

    Goal 1: Score 48+ points
    Goal 2: Grab 16+ rebounds
Goal 3: Shoot 50%+ from the field.
    Goal 4: Win the game.

    Dynasty
En route to a 15-1 playoff record and second straight championship, Kobe sets the tone in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

When: May 19, 2001. Game 1, Western Conference Finals vs. San Antonio Spurs

    Goal 1: Score 45+ points
    Goal 2: Grab 10+ rebounds
Goal 3: Shoot 54%+ from the field.
    Goal 4: Win the game.

    Three-for-All
Kobe drains an NBA-record 12 three-pointers in a route of the Supersonics.

When: January 7, 2003: Regular season game vs. Seattle Supersonics.

    Goal 1: Score 45+ points
Goal 2: Shoot 57%+ from the field.
    Goal 3: Drain 12 three-pointers.
    Goal 4: Win the game.

    Last Dance
Kobe drops a double nickel of his own to ruin Michael Jordan's final appearance in Los Angeles.

When: March 28, 2003. Regular season game vs. Washington Wizards

    Goal 1: Score 55 points
Goal 2: Shoot 51%+ from the field
    Goal 3: Drain 9 three-pointers.
    Goal 4: Win the game.

    Messing with Texas
Kobe and the Lakers stage the second-largest 4th quarter comeback in NBA history (27 points) to stun the Mavericks

When: December 12, 2005. Regular season game vs. Dallas Mavericks.

    Goal 1: Score 43+ points
Goal 2: Score 21 points in the 4th quarter
    Goal 3: Win the game.

    62 in 3
Kobe does Dallas again, dropping 62 points in 29 minutes of play.

When: December 20, 2005. Regular season game vs. Mavericks

Goal 1: Score 62 points in first 3 quarters
Goal 2: Shoot 58%+ from the field.
    Goal 3: Win the game.

    81
Kobe torches Toronto for the second most points ever scored in an NBA game.

When: January 22, 2006. Regular season game vs. Toronto Raptors.

    Goal 1: Score 81+ points
Goal 2: Shoot 60%+ from the field.
    Goal 3: Make 7 three-pointers.
    Goal 4: Win the game.

    The Streak
Kobe sets the league on fire during an incredible four-game stretch.

When: March 16-23, 2007. Regular season games vs. Portland, Minnesota, Memphis and New Orleans.

Goal 1: Average 56+ points per game during the four-game stretch.
Goal 2: Average 54%+ shooting over the four-game stretch.
Goal 3: Grab 5+ rebounds in all four games.
Goal 4: Win all four games.

    Kobe takes Manhattan
Kobe's 61 points are the most ever by a visitor at Madison Square Garden.

When: February 2, 2009. Regular season game vs. New York Knicks

    Goal 1: Score 61+ points
Goal 2: Shoot 60%+ from the field.
    Goal 3: Win the game.

    Re: The KOBE Challenge

I would replace the streak with the finals series against the Magic.

It would be "Winning without Shaq"

    Otherwise, AMAZING LIST!!!

Tough for Kobe to hit 12 3's in this game.

Thanks...not a bad suggestion..I think "The Streak" would be more difficult though, but here's what I would suggest for "Winning Without Shaq"

          Winning Without Shaq
Kobe leads the Lakers to a decisive Finals win over the Magic.

When: June 4-14, 2009. NBA Finals vs. Orlando Magic.

Goal 1: Average 32+ points per game
Goal 2: Average 7+ assists per game.
Goal 3: Shoot 43%+ for the series.
          Goal 4: Win the series.

Agreed..I think "81" would be the most difficult obviously..scoring 81 is a chore in itself, but having to make 7 three's in this game while still shooting 60% from the field would be a pain.

                "Fight Night"

Get in a fight with Reggie "Skin and Bones" Miller and don't get beat up and tossed on the scorer's table.

Sorry, but that is one of my favorite Kobe memories (the air ball festival versus Utah follows closely behind).

All kidding aside, I like the idea. Kobe isn't a legend, but if he was, I'd like to see that in a 2K game. Good work.

I really like all of this. I'd love to come up with challenges for a lot of the great players. I'd also love for the tasks for the Kobe 81 game to get at least 1 assist

that's cool man...go for it if you have the rosters.

I tried "The Streak" this afternoon..was only shooting 49% after three games though so I gave up on it....tried "81" against the current Raps team but I couldn't get it on 60% shooting
