One tip that might help some people get even more control of their team is to memorize your entire playbook and then turn PlayVision off. Doing that obviously removes the play art for the court but it also removes the "A" above the guys head who is supposed to get the ball next.

This allows you to use directional icon passing on plays. This is very helpful for players coming off screens that you want to curl or fade based on how the D plays your screen.

I think you can use directional icon passing w/ PlayVision on.

I could be doing something wrong but it never works for me. When I try to curl a guy off a screen and hit A my PG always throws the ball to the opposite wing (since technically that's where I'm pointing the LS) instead of the player with the PlayVision "A" over his head.

Agreed, finally got around to playing 2K again last night and Post Patch the game is the best sports period, this game needs to win sports game if the year, I have never really played a game that got some many things right.

Sounds like you don't have full play vision on. With full play vison the A doesn't show up over the players heads, only the art on the floor. By default the playvision isn't set to "Full"

Hey just wanted to chime in to people who may still be looking at this thread for the first time looking for impressions......

after a full month and some days with the game and post patch..I must continue to say that this game is incredible and I am so glad that I made this purchase. the teams and players are off the chain, crowd atmosphere is good but could be better, the intensely insane dunks are just wow...!!! I love this game !!!! nba today highlights are wayyyy better than last year, player control is alot more responsive...plays are great ....I really hope that Online gets better I really want to put it to some folks out there this year..but it's too easy to exploit as is right now....

I can't say that I felt like I was getting my money's worth every year out of these games but this year's game is money well spent I am easily going to be playing this up until the next release easy

....and the funny part is that I have not even touched the Jordan mode yet or the association or season modes yet....this game is so freaken deep this year..lol to all the complainers about all the little stuff wrong with this game I am laughin my head off.... there is some good and bad but nothing no where near bad enough to stop me from playing this game everyday!!!

2ksports can you make a patch to the lakers middle line turn purple instead of the yellow line because thats how it should look like

they should fix the lakers middle line into purple line to look more realistic because it is yellow and it looks wierd.

I had to do some adjusting after the patch because it just seemed a bit off. I had it to where I was playing on All-Star with my own slider set based off the sim slider type but post patch it just threw everything off.

Where as before I was getting competitive games now I was blowing out every team. I had to bump up to Superstar with the Sim slider set. All of a sudden the game played ultra realistic again.

I played a few test games 12 min qts: Magic (me) vs. Jazz and Lakers (me) vs Nuggets and both went ultra realistic minus slightly lower 3 point %. I'm going to have to mess with that I just have to make sure my shot timing is spot on before I mess with the sliders too much.

Good post. I've had the game since launch and I don't feel like I've even scratched the surface yet. I haven't played Jordan Mode, only got 4 games into my old-school Lakers Association and have yet to start a 2010 Association with the Nuggets. I've mostly been playing NBA Today games when I have time and that's been a blast trying out different teams.

Only thing I need to do now is start winning games. I've lost my last 8. I don't get blown out, but usually it's one big run by the CPU that does me in and I lose by 2-8 points.
