Regarding players transferring to your school. Do you need to have available scholarships for them to come? For instance if I used all 25 of my scholarships for the year, does that mean no transfers will occur that year?

Re: Transfer question...
No 100% sure but I think it has to do with roster size. If you keep the max 70 players each year then you want see as many transfers. I keep mine at 65 max and get transfers here and there.Relax, it's just a video game! -
Re: Transfer question...
Yeah that much I was aware of... Come to think of it I THINK I recall my available scholarships went down when I received some transfers last year, which would point to you needing to keep some available. Typically I wouldn't be able to recruit 25 guys but this year I've already got 9, plus 7 soft commits, and another 10+ who list me as #1 of their choices, so it's getting close. But no way I want to risk missing out on a transfer. My team needs them when I can get them lol.Comment

Re: Transfer question...
Confirmed, transfers DO take a scholarship. I just received 3 transfers going into season 4 of my online dynasty and was only able to sign 22 recruits in addition.Comment

Re: Transfer question...
I had 24 guys signed in season and had 2 transfers and I got both of them. I don't know how that works but I'll take it!Comment

Re: Transfer question...
Interesting. I wonder if there is a glitch where transfers only take available scholarships at the time they come to your school. But if there aren't enough available to take all transfers they come anyway. I guess some transfers simply with no scholarship.Comment

Re: Transfer question...
Can you only offer 25 no matter what?
This comes from the fact that right before embarking on offseason recruiting you get to see (and try to convince otherwise) guys leaving early to turn pro, and therefore vacating a scholarship that would now be available to a recruit.
I know in the real world (coached D-I swimming) if someone on current roster w/ a schol leaves early, I wasn't limited that year to the figure available from before they exercised their right to leave. It was 'found' money, even after Signing Day, and I went out and filled that spot.
Is football -- real world, and therefore in the game -- different? Only 25 per year no matter what?Comment

Re: Transfer question...
In Year 5 of my Tulane dynasty, I only had 68 players on my roster (two short of the maximum). The following off-season, I have received two transfers. I wonder if this is just a coincidence or not.Click here to read my dynasty report:

Re: Transfer question...
I'm guessing it has to with roster size like others have mentioned, as well as your actual roster make up. In my current dynasty I started at Cincinnati and stayed for five years, then quit and took over at CU which was a 2 star program at the time. One of my early years I had the minimum number of DE's and WR's you are required to have without the computer adding walk ons. At the end of the season I had both a WR and DE transfer in that were higher rated than anyone else currently at their position. It also helped that they came from schools that were stacked at their position group. Since then I've always had solid depth at every position and have not had a transfer in 4 years.Comment
