8. Las Vegas Bowl, Boise State (11-1) vs. Utah (10-2), Dec. 22: We doubt Boise thought it would end its season in Las Vegas, but this could be a good one. The one negative: Utah QB Jordan Wynn is out, meaning senior backup Terrance Cain must be sharp. Still, the combined loss total of these two is three. Boise is in this one because the Pac-10 -- Utah's new home -- didn't have enough bowl-eligible teams.

I like both these teams, but sure find it annoying that we can't see them playing some of the top teams from the AQ conferences. All season long the controversy is about these top mid-majors not playing a tough schedule. Yet when bowl season rolls around the NCAA doesn't seem too inclined to give these guys a chance to embarras the big boys...AGAIN.

If Boise State is able to get up emotionally for this game after what happened against Nevada, they will dominate. Utah was thoroughly exposed by TCU and Notre Dame.

Such a shame. Boise could have gained so much more from playing literally ANY other top 25 team.
