Best playbooks for mobile QBs?
What are some good playbooks that will help show off my mobile QB? Id like to get him more running opportunies but not sacrifice the pass game entirely.

Re: Best playbooks for mobile QBs?
Basically all I have been doing is running a pass play from a shotgun formation and if the ends bite down and the LB's dont come up to cover the flat, just scramble as far as I can. -
Re: Best playbooks for mobile QBs?
The read option is broke in this game due to the very slow handoff and fake handoff animations, plus the psychic cpu. If you want to run it you need to increase run blocking to be about 10 points higher than whatever setting works for under-center running.Originally posted by Kaiser Wilhelmthere should not be ties occurring in the NFL except when neither team wins the game.Comment

Tulsa has a good playbook for running Qb's. It has a lot of wildcat as well. good luck.Comment

Virginia Tech, Utah St, Baylor
BYU is a good mix of Air Raid, standard formations, and a few QB options.Comment

Re: Best playbooks for mobile QBs?
read option is definitely not broke. There's a great spread option guide on these forums... stand by and I'll throw up the link.

On-Topic: Mississippi State is my favorite. I've used all of the top spread-option playbooks but keep coming back to the Bulldogs' playbook. Wake Forest is awesome for a combination of spread AND under-center option offenses.Comment

OregonAny Tony Franklin system will do, but UO has that wild duck
Line him up in the motion slot in Wild Duck, and watch him go. It's not fair. My house rule is that I can only use that play 3 times a game.
Or just go Ace>QB Dive> Player Lock on QB. Pick a lineman to run behind (more effective with playside guard and tackle) and watch the chain move. And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

And forget about the Wild Duck. No matter what team I play with, the wildcat formation always ends up in a 1-3 yard loss for me.
I use SECelite's AA slider set, so maybe that just needs to be tweaked to use the spread.....Comment

Re: Best playbooks for mobile QBs?
If you dont want to sacrifice the passing attack I would say Louisville is the way to go. Have 5 empty sets, 2 ace, 1 pistol, and the rest shotgun. I have been hooked on it. Its great if you want a balanced run/pass ratio but you can go all run or all pass. There are just so many optionsComment

Re: Best playbooks for mobile QBs?
Yeti,
To run the spread option, you can't use sliders set for the power run game. Well, you can, but it doesn't feel very realistic.
Here's what the pertinent stuff I do (without editing rosters):
difficulty: Varsity (don't judge - I have VERY realistic games)
Speed Threshold: 0 (This is key IMO to get the big play feel)
Game Speed: Normal (easier to do on slow, but it doesn't feel right)
Human:
Run Block 50
Run Ability 45
CPU:
Run def 95
Tack 55
I basically tweaked Playmakers' sliders to get a good set-up... And had a lot of practice. It's hard to run effectively versus good defenses, but you do occasionally get a big play and feel the entire game change. It actually works out very realistically... 2 yards here, 3 yards there, 18 yards here, loss of 1 there, 1 yard run there, 65 yard touchdown.
That challenging part is getting your defensive sliders set-up so that it's a challenge, gives you realistic stats and gameplay. I'm close, but I do still get lit up for quite a bit of yardage through the air in garbage time.
PS - Wild Dog in the Mississippi St. playbook destroys the Wild Duck. That entire formation works well. And the Tebow formation is the bomb.Comment

Re: Best playbooks for mobile QBs?
Try using the roster with the decreased Play Recognition to see if that improves the read option game. It did for me somewhat.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment
