    Week 14: Packers @ Lions

Someone had to make this thread.

I do not take Detroit lightly. They almost beat Chicago last week, they almost beat us at Lambeau.

What sucks though is that this is an absolute must win for us if we're going to get into the Playoffs. I don't like all that pressure, even if we're the better on-paper team.

Come on Lions. Win a damn game.

Play like it's the Super Bowl like you did on Sunday.

I wouldn't consider this an absoute MUST win for the Playoffs. I'd reserve that for the Giants game because if we win that, then we have tiebreaker over them AND the Eagles.

Both are must wins imo. Too many good teams for 10-6 to guarantee GB a playoff spot. If the Packers slip up and lose this week they have to win in New England to get to 11-5. That's a lot harder than winning in Detroit.

            This is a trap game.

The Lions scored the most points of any team against the Packers. The Packers need to put the pedal to the medal and don't let up.

The Lions are a very good team with plenty of weapons.

We seem to be a team that plays hard and keeps things close with our 2nd and 3rd string QB's. Has me scratching my head that one.

We could win this one and lose at New England(which I expect us to do BTW)and still be in good shape because that doesn't affect our Conference Record. So in a way, losing this one wouldn't be AS bad as losing the game to the Giants since that's who we're battling with for a playoff spot.

Either way, playoffs or not we still need to go out there and not have a let down against the Lions because they've been in every game they've played against a good team this year so I expect them to play us tougher again.

It affects our division record tho. For Green Bay to win the division, this game is still important. If Chicago wins against Minnesota then even if Green Bay beats Chicago week 17, if they finish with the same record Chicago gets the division because of division record if I'm not mistaken.

So Green Bay needs wins over Detroit and Chicago for the division, a home playoff game and possibly a first round bye... and/or a win over the Giants for the wildcard tie breaker. The New England game is the only one that isn't damning for Green Bay's playoff seeding.

You're talking about winning the division. I'm just talking about getting there period. Again, lose to Detroit, beat NE and the Giants and we're still in good shape as far as PLAYOFFS is concerned.

True, I would just feel a lot better knowing Green Bay can still win the division and has nothing to lose when the go to New England instead of going to New England with their backs against the wall and be in jeopardy of missing the playoffs all together.

C'mon now, Pack fans...I realize that as a fan of a team, you view your team through worried eyes, but when can we just call a spade a spade? The Detroit Lions suck. You should expect to win this game, and win big. If you can't beat a 2-10 team that only "worries" people because they don't want to suffer the indignity of losing to the worst team in the league (keeping games semi-close for 75% of the game doesn't really count for anything, BTW), you don't deserve a playoff berth.

I would not take Detroit for anything less than 10 and 1/2 points (I have no idea what the actual line is...).

We also lost to a team that can barely score more than 17 points consistently(Skins)so you'd understand why we're a little cautious if you were one of us lol

I think we have a small chance to win. Stanton played well last week, and if he can get the ball to Megatron things will happen. Best has to contribute also.

It'll be a good game to watch. I'll get the same hope I usually do, watch them go into 2nd half close or with the lead, one play will derail them, and it'll end in a crushing defeat. The typical life of a Lions fan...
