Opinions on injuries being in roster updates?

I would create a poll for this if I knew how. [UPDATE: Poll now available] I vote a big NO! It's bad enough playing the Devils nowadays without the surprise I got when starting up an online game the other day and having both Parise and Brodeur out. Plus the roster updates seem to be somewhat irregular so who knows how long I will have to wait to get them back after they come back in real life. I think this is getting a little too realistic, I mean what happens if EA decides not to do any more roster updates while Parise is still on the shelf, I would then lose him forever in online play?

Not a fan of it myself. I always edit the rosters and put the injured guys back in anyway.

I personally don't see the value of it for online either. I don't like the idea of a team being strong or weak from update to update because their full roster isn't available.

"No" for me as well. Once I start my franchise, my universe has no interaction with the real life NHL.

Hey. EA is suppose to be a realistic representation of the NHL. If guys are hurt and out for a period of time then they should not be on the default online rosters.

I don't mind if they are out for online play. but if they are going to do this wit ht he offline rosters, I'd like one without the injuries, but with the new ratings.

I hate that I put Oshie back in, but now I play other teams without their injured players.

If EA wants up-to-date rosters, I wh they woudl go the full distance and do NHL Today tyye content.

either offline or online, i prefer to have the accurate roster but not necessarily reflect the injuries in the real nhl.

I said no, but I agree with Jayhawker in the fact that I have no problem with injuries being used, but then EA should update their rosters more than once every 2 weeks as players come back all the time. I like the NHL live rosters idea.

Kinda funny - I've caught myself a few times thinking my BAP life is really happening. Like thinking "Setoguchi is gonna be out for a week injured, and we need him on a tough road trip now." Then I remember that injury is in NHL11-land, not real.

A big "NO" from me as well. Unless, they offered two available for DL-

I wouldn't mind a roster update that was considered "live", and released weekly- this would have up to date player transactions, call ups/downs, injuries, and hot/cold player atrribute adjustments, as well as adjusted attrubutes for teams overall.

As long as there was one that was just player transactions as well. If I guy is going to miss 4 games because of a minor injury, and he happens to be injured right before the rosrter is finalized. I don't want the update to have him on IR, so I have to maunally go in and change it. That kinda defeats the purpose of a DL roster update.
If I wanted to do things manually, I could, and would.

As for online games- I think it should just be basic current default team rosters. No regulars on IR. People don't vary in teams enough for online play, certain teams would never be used if a top line forward or goalie is out for an extended period of time.

just go to each team and hit the best available lines button. that will add the injured players back in the teams lineup. (if they are scratched and still on the NHL team)
