How did you get that from my statement?

PP7 is the best cornerback in the country, but when his team needed him the most he rode Cam into the endzone to lose the SEC West championship. When Fairly's team needed him the most he recorded a third down sack and another sack that forced a fumble inside the 10 yard line to ensure a national championship appearance.

But then again...Brian is both old as dirt and a former wide receiver at San Jose State. Therefore....he is a virtual Einstein of the pigskin.

(I only kid about the old as dirt part...you are actually much younger than most dirt).

Yeah. Not sure how you can put that on Peterson. Lot easier to make an impact on the dl than at cb. Team can simply avoid you at cb.

I think Fairley had the most visible impact. It's hard to quantify PP7 taking away half the field as it's not reflected in stats or in on the ball plays.

The bad part of playing football as much as I did is I feel older than young dirt.

Peterson getting drug into the end zone shouldn't take anything away from him, especially considering the same thing probably would've happened to half the defenders in the country. He's a Shutdown corner, he's not going to be making his money in the NFL based on tackles. Just saying, that play in particular was really all Cam.

Oh, you mean the play where Cam ran to to the right (from behind the snap) and PP7 was in man coverage on the left side of the field? IDK if Fairley could have stopped Cam on the goal line there.

And @AA complaining about getting off topic...this game is a month away. If you honestly think this was going to be on-topic for a a whole month...well, good luck with that.

I wonder if Peterson will be the first non qb off the draft board. CB's like that are so hard to come by.

It'll be either him, Bowers, Austin, Green or Fairley.

I would say that's a definite. Seeing him in person...dude just LOOKS like a Pro Bowl receiver.

He's a very big corner with obvious big time speed and ball skills.

Other than Luck (best passer, most pro Ready), Cam (IMO best overall physical talent), and A.J. Green I would take Petersen if I had a top 5 pick.

I think Luck obviously goes #1. I could see those guys as well. Peterson to me just looks like one of those once in every 5 years type player at the most coveted non qb position in the league.

                          Right. Andy goes #1.

PP7 probably goes 2nd, with AJ, Bowers, Fairley, Quinn, Austin, Prince, Dareus and the OT from Colorado making up the next handful of picks.

As a pure Auburn/Minnesota Viking fan....

My dream would be for Cam (who is about 99.9999% going pro) to be available when my Vikes pick (somewhere in the mid teens I'm guessing). Please make this happen Ziggy.

Or snatch up Fairley to play alongside the Williams boys (Pat doesn't have much tread left on his tires).

Anyone who drafts PP7 is instantly getting a 5-6 time pro bowl DB IMO.

Plus the inevitable workout warrior who jumps up the board.

Looks to be a real WR and QB heavy draft. I think Bruce Carter jumps up in to the top 10 as well.

Just catching up on the thread, here are a couple of things.

-AA's love for Farley is getting close to Massnole/Ponder levels, but I can't blame him. Dude is a good player, and your suppose to support your team. I'm sure I will be doing the same next year with Denard.

-Cebby point against PP7 was laughable when Cam is 6'6' and 250lbs. I'm sure no DB is coming from behind and taking him down without going for his knee, especially on that play.

-If the Lions don't pick PP7 at #2, I'm disowning them.
