Glitch or not?

I have a Freshman QB who started the season resshirting but started my second game because of injury. He was an ovr 74 and as the season progressed he would go up in many categories and he is now a 99 ovr. The guy who runs the league wants me to drop him because he says it has to be a glitch.

Anyone ever have this happen or hear of a glitch like this? I checked ea website and other websites but could not find anything regarding a glitch like this.

I haven't seen any like that before. The most I've seen a player improve during the season is probably +2 to overall. +8 to overall in the off-season.

I'm not gonna say its a glitch, nor am I gonna say you should drop him... but I will say that that is pretty peculiar. The game does have some really odd default ratings (like Robert Griffin from Baylor is WAY too high as a young QB) so its not impossible to have a highly rated young passer...

I guess the main question is: what kind of dynasty is it (powerhouse, 2 star etc....)... because if other teams have QBs in the same range I would say you lucked out.

I guess the biggest thing is if you have to cut him because he progressed 'too much', then you guys will have to start monitoring all player progression... and determine what makes it 'too much'... is it because he's a 99 or because he went up 25 points in one year? What determines 'too much'...? That may become a slippery slope you don't want to go down.

unless I read it wrong, I think he said the player went from a 74 overall to a 99 overall in 1 regular season. so it was just in-season progression. if that is what happen, then there definitely was something wrong.

if it was over a 4 year period, then that player just had good potential and progressed good.

Sounds to me like the guy who runs your league is scared of your QB! I think it would be pretty ridiculous for him to make you cut the guy just because he is all of the sudden highly rated.

To top it off the guy who runs the leafue has an A+ team and my team is a B-. Except for my 99 player his second team players would all start on my team.

I am the guy who runs the league.

I've played about 5-10 seasons worth of dynasties and have consistently monitored all the teams. No player has EVER gone up more than 1 point in a given week during the regular season. Yet this player has gone up 3-4 overall points EVERY week until he got from a 70something to a 99, and he's still going up.

If you look at in season progression, the only attribute that goes up is Awareness. This player goes up in awareness, speed, agility, throwing power/accuracy.

How can this be possible?

I'm not accusing him of cheating. All I am saying is that this was a glitch that should NOT have happened. Therefore, I told him he could use the player the rest of the season but he had to cut him next offseason.

I say let the guy keep his ONE stud player. You heard him say that your second team would all be starters on his team. Let him have the QB for the 3 years or so that he will stay in College, really not that big of a deal in my eyes.

sounds to me like you are just a bit bitter he found a diamond in the rough type player (college version of tom brady anyone?). I wouldnt continue in your league if you demanded I cut a player just because you *think* it might be a glitch. unless you can prove it was a glitch, which it seems you cant because glitches usually pop up throughout other peoples seasons and this one has not, you cannot force the guy to cut his best player. My advice to the OP is to keep the player and if the *king* of your league kicks you out go find a better one. People who abuse the littlest amount of authority (esp in online leagues etc) really annoy me.

I don't think you guys understand. This isn't about how good someone's team is. This is about a glitch in in season progression. Has ANYONE seen someone progress from a 74 to a 99 in ONE regular season (not offseason progression)?

I still don't think he should be cut. Just because a player glitched and became the best player out there shouldn't force the player to cut a guy. I'm an OD in a league and although I'd be crazy jealous someone has a player like that, I still wouldn't force him to cut a guy just because he got extremely lucky by something. It's not like he did it intentionally. Now, if it happened to a second player, or someone every year, then yes, I'd make him cut them.

Most people aren't actually answering the question of whether this is a glitch or not. If this is a glitch, I don't care how good or bad someone's team is, that player is ineligible. And I'm sure its a glitch because no one else (including myself and the owner) has seen this in many seasons worth of dynasty.

The main question here is not whether he should be cut or not or how I should run this league, its IS THIS A GLITCH? Because if it is, then this player will have to be cut. If its not a glitch, then he can play, simple as that

I would assume its a glitch, but I cannot say for certain. What I can say for certain is, regardless of if it is a glitch or not, why would you punish the members whose player it was? It's not really any different than if he were to have picked a team who initially had a 99 ovr player.

Let him keep it. If it happens again, then there's something fishy.
